ENERGIZER COLLEGE Certificate IV in Ministry (Leadership) Energizer College, in partnership with Alphacrucis College in Sydney, offers a Certificate IV in Ministry (Leadership). There are ten units that can be covered in one year of fulltime study. This qualification involves course work in
Christian Discipleship so you can develop the spiritual disciplines in contemporary spiritual disciplines and spirituality. Disciplines of prayer, giving, worship, fasting and reading your Bible effectively and are the basis of an effective Christian walk and ministry. There is an emphasis on the Pentecostal/Charismatic movements and how these movements have experienced God. Introduction to the Old Testament is a foundational skills min interpreting the Old Testament and communicating their content and values. This unit gives an understanding of the development of the Judaic/Christian traditions, faith and history. *Introduction to the New Testament (* Semester 2)continues the development of the understanding of the Old Testament and gives an understanding of the basis of Christian faith, the times, life death and resurrection of Jesus, His impact on the world. Christian Worldview helps develop a Christian perspective on life through the study (theology) developed from Scriptures and Christian tradition. It gives the basic skills necessary to model and teach this worldview to others. * Introduction to Pastoral Ministry (* Semester 2) describes and develops the knowledge and skills to provide pastoral care. * Christian Leadership (* Semester 2) allows participants to acquire and develop the skills necessary for exercising leadership and influence in a variety of contexts. It recognises that organisational leadership begins with vision, is exercised in a variety of styles and entails mentoring of individuals and groups. * Vocational Ministry Placement I (Participate in OHS) (* Semester 2) describes and develops the performance outcomes skills and knowledge required to participate in workplace occupational workplace health and safety processes to protect the individual workers own health and safety and that of others. * Vocational Ministry Placement II (Participate in ministry) (* Semester 2) allows participants the skills necessary to identify and participate in the various areas of ministry by working with a mentor in a local church. 6.5 hours per week-‐ (nb if you are an active participant in a church’s ministry you may already do this. This unit allows reflection and understanding and 1
recording of a participant’s ministry as part of a team. It is not extra, nor on top of what many church members already do.) Vocational Ministry III (Work in a ministry team)is a unit that builds on I and II and allows a participant to learn in a practical way the skills necessary to participate in a ministry area of a local church by working closely with a mentor in a local church. 6.5 hours per week-‐ (nb if you are an active participant in a church’s ministry you may already do this. This unit allows reflection and understanding and recording of a participant’s ministry as part of a team. It is not extra, nor on top of what many church members already do.) Vocational Ministry IV(Teamwork) describes the performance outcomes skills and knowledge to promote teamwork. It involves developing team plans, leading a work team and proactively work with a church’s management team. Fulltime Study: Fulltime students may be able to get fee assistance through Centrelink. Fulltime students will be registered and can participate in two National conferences as part of a group at Hillsong in July, Colour in March or Men’s Conference.in November, (nb airfares and accommodation are not included) COSTS: Each Unit costs $440 (inclusive of GST).
