TRAP THE SHAPES This exercise is very similar to the bug trapping exercise. We’ll make things a little more difficult by now asking the student to identify and only trap certain shapes. As before the trapping can be done 1) Circling in any direction 2) Circling only clockwise 3) Circling only counter clockwise Have the student keep the marker on the page through the entire exercise. They should circle and then draw a line to the next symbol. Pick any symbol on a sheet and ask the student to circle every instance of that symbol. You can also do variations on this such as every instance of that symbol that is facing right. Once this starts to become easy you can then time the student and encourage them to beat their previous times.
