Executive Meeting Minutes 5:00 PM September 24, 2013 SME Chapter 172, St. Paul, MN
Held at: Davanni’s Pizza in Arden Hills: In attendance: Tim Lange, Brian Pearce, Paul Hamre, Dave Hoska Brian called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM
Monthly reports: Secretary’s Minutes: Minutes were silently read. A motion to accept the report as silently read was seconded and approved Treasurer's Report: Treasurer’s report was submitted. Check book balanced out correctly. Certification Report: Dave Hoska checked with Tom Vanderloop. They have 4 to 5 students that are interested in taking the exam sometime in December or January. Anyone from our chapter will be welcome to join them.
Old Business: Twin City Fan Tour: 32 people attended the meeting and tour, which was a joint meeting between ASME and SME.
Status of Future Meetings o Oct 15: Heraeus Medical tour is a go. o Nov 19: Still have not heard from Viking Drill; it looks like that they are interested. o Dec 3: Joint meeting with the MPLS SME chapter at Josephs o Jan 21: Polar Plastics still is looking good o Feb 18: Installation of the Maryland Bridge; Tim is looking into a possible joint meeting o Mar 18: Wilson Tool is good; Dave will finalize the detail as we get closer. o Apr 15: VistaTek is looking good
New Business:
Looking for new idea's for our website that would encourage people to visit the site: Information about the meeting, and other interesting items.
2014 Chapter Officers: We need to start looking at the people who come to multiple meetings and the student members that are joining our chapter for the first time.
Talked with Tom Vanderloop: Their next meeting is Oct 24 on Lean Manufacturing at Mathews Bow Inc. They are expecting 40 plus people to attend.
Action Items:
Dave will call the Pontoon plant to see if they would be willing to give a tour. Tim will be getting more details for the Dec 3 meeting and be the contact for Joseph's for meeting arrangements Dave/Paul will be working on the Nov meeting.
