rank and Lydia Conboy love their spacious home in The Villages, a welcome respite nestled among other beautiful homes. Clustered in a row of well-manicured lawns and tidy houses set back on their precise lots, the overall feeling of the neighborhood is tranquil and peaceful. “The kitchen was very nice, but the wood was very dark,” Frank recalls. “We thought we could just get them refaced and save money.” The kitchen had been installed only a couple of years ago, but the Conboys wanted a brighter space. Frank, a retired perfumer by trade, and Lydia decided to get some estimates. Ultimately, after a couple of quotes seemed high, one even suggesting that they rip out the perfectly good base cabinets and start over, they decided to call Jim LaValle with ReNew

Kitchen & Bath. He didn’t disappoint. “When he came over,” Lydia says, “he told us we could also paint the cabinets to lighten them. Then he quickly showed us another home in the neighborhood so we could see the finished results and we really liked how they turned out. We’re very happy with it.” They also both appreciated that he was in “constant contact” with them during the whole process. Whenever a small issue arose, they called Jim and his crew got right on it. “I like the service,” Frank says. “Jim is very personable and his staff is very polite.” For ReNew, that’s not unusual—that’s exactly how they like to get the job done. “I’ve organized a good team over the years and I don’t accept anything less than the best. They do excellent work,” Jim says. “The key
is communication. You have to respond right away.” The Conboys loved the way Jim kept in touch with them throughout the process, but they really love the finished product. Lydia estimates they saved “a lot of money” by keeping the base cabinets in the kitchen and simply painting them. “They did a lot of custom work and matched everything,” she says. “I think the cabinets turned out lovely.” ReNew kept the existing cabinets, fixed any problem areas and applied a fresh coat of antique white gloss. The Conboys liked the work so much that they had ReNew come back to do the same to the two bathrooms and the laundry room, as well as adding two custom built bookcases.
