What We’re Looking For You will be joining our team of dedicated grounds staff who work hard to keep our extensive grounds and estate areas immaculate and well maintained. The types of jobs vary according to the time of year and/ or the prevailing weather conditions. This is a practical ‘hands on’ role where you will be expected to work either on your own under your own initiative or as part of a team under the direction of a senior person.

What You’ll Need   

Experience in all aspects of grounds maintenance including use of both ride on and hand mowers and hedge cutting. A horticultural qualification would be an advantage. A full, clean driving licence is essential.

What You’ll be Doing 

Grass cutting using both ride on and hand mowers.



Use of powered hand tools for hedge cutting and verge trimming etc.



Landscaping work of existing and new areas within the Park.



Assist with general Park maintenance at times during the winter period.



Be prepared to assist Gardens team in times of staff shortages, peak seasonal tasks and during major projects.

When You’ll Be Doing It 

You will be required to work five days a week including weekend and bank holiday working on a rota basis. Hours of work will normally be 7.30 am – 5.00 pm with half an hour for lunch. Any hours worked in excess of 45 hours per week will be paid at overtime rate.

 What You’ll Get  

28 days paid holiday with an additional day of entitlement for each completed year of service – maximum 33 days after 5 years continuous permanent employment. Uniform - You will be provided with a polo shirt, jumper, trousers and coat. In addition any items you are expected to supply should be smart and appropriate.
