Reduce intersection size and tighten intersection geometry Shorten pedestrian crossing distances and widen crosswalk areas Better align Washington Boulevard and Wilson Boulevards Upgrade traffic signals Install New Carlyle streetlights Provide wider center medians at all crossings Close N. Irving Street next to Silver Diner, add a green streets element Add curb extensions at Liberty Tavern and old Sam’s Deli corner Add bike lanes to improve bike lane connections New street trees

Provide four lanes and eliminate traffic controlled reverse lane Reconfigure Washington Blvd and 13th St to be a “T” intersection Provide public open space for future 13th and Washington Blvd Park Underground Utilities Upgrade traffic signals Install New Carlyle streetlights New street trees

Exact build out of the Sector Plan concept would create a much larger intersection than the current design. More recent studies suggest that a smaller intersection, as designed is more desirable and pedestrian friendly.
