End of Days (Mike Lee)
During the End of Days course, we'll take a look at the prevailing views of how the end times will occur. Each view will be discussed as to what it holds, what are the strengths, and what are its weaknesses. Because all the views we'll look at are biblical, we’ll discuss what makes an end-time view biblical. Finally, we'll discuss if holding to a different view of the unfolding of the end times is a reason to separate into different churches.
guide to world missions and is filled with practical ideas and information. It focuses on the “why” of missions - including our Biblical basis, heritage, and the world's need - and contains over 25 minimissionary biographies, motivational missions stories, hymns, and hundreds of easy-to-use ideas. You'll be encouraged to recognize God’s potential in your child and raise your child to fulfill God’s specific mission, whatever that may be.
1 Peter 4:10 (Steve Hutson) Based on the gifts they’ve received, every believer should use these gifts to serve others as good stewards and managers of God's gifts and grace. In this class, we'll use our gifts to serve others by making visits, doing service projects, and giving of our time and talents to show God's love through our words and actions.
w
Prepare: Living Your Faith in a Hostile Culture (Mark Moore & Doug Demosi) Marriage has been redefined. Religious freedoms are eroding. And, the Church has been marginalized. How should we respond? It's time to prepare for a future none of us could have imagined just a few years ago. In this class, we'll seek to understand what it means to live faithfully in America, where society is changing, values are shifting, and the possibility for hostility is real. This class will discuss the reality of our culture, the possibility of persecution, and the reason for hope. w
w
The Mission-Minded Child
(Duane Geib & Brad and Jennifer Evans) The Mission-Minded Child is a parent’s
believers and non-believers. Sessions will feature listening to dramatizations of the letters, followed by our own discussion of the techniques employed to deceive.
Keep It Shut: What to Say, How to Say It, and When to Say Nothing At All (Kim Gaither) Keep It Shut teaches women what the Bible says about the ways we are to use our words and the times when we are to remain silent. Unsolicited opinion-slinging, speaking the truth in love, not saying words just to people-please and dealing with our verbal anger are sub-topics that will also be addressed. Sessions will feature a different character from the Bible, using them either as an example to emulate or whose verbal actions we should avoid replicating. w
The Way I'm Wired: Discovering Who God Made Me To Be (Adam Lickey & Brett Wainz) Teenagers are not accidents. The life journey you’re traveling isn't random, either. God has a unique, intricate design for you, which includes the hopes, dreams, and deepest longings assigned to you before you were even born. This biblical resource will help you realize that God's plan is intended to be a miraculous adventure toward purpose. w
The Screwtape Letters (Lannie Hudson) The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis, is a classic masterpiece of religious satire that portrays human life from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly-placed assistant to Satan. This class will help you become more aware of the schemes that Satan uses to mislead us. It highlights the situations we face in real life and how twisted truths and lies can deceive both

A Message From Pastor Mike ..................................................................................................................................... Dear 3BC Family, We are grateful that our Lord has brought us through the summer and we now enter into the fall season. Fall is a wonderful time as the humidity drops, temperatures drop, and the weather becomes much more pleasant. Fall is also a time when people are still busy out and about in neighborhoods, which means it’s still a great time to connect to neighbors. Take these weeks ahead to meet and greet your neighbors. Invite them over to watch a game on TV with you. Some of you have fire pits. Have them over and make some s’mores! Remember that our Lord has placed you in your neighborhood so that you might use this platform to reach people for Him. He’s given you the opportunity…now be obedient. Our schools and colleges are in full swing. For parents of elementary, middle school, and high school students, be involved in your children’s schools. Get to know other parents, administrators, and teachers. These are great opportunities to build relationships for Christ. As for those of you who are students, God has placed you in your schools to be salt and light for His glory.
Pastor Mike will begin a new sermon series, “The Book of Proverbs: Wisdom For Daily Life” beginning Sunday, September 13. Please be in prayer and attendance for this powerful series.
On September 13, we are having MTSU Appreciation Day at 3BC. We’re asking you to wear MTSU blue that morning as we recognize the impact MTSU has had and is having in our church, community, and throughout the world. We’ve invited several representatives from MTSU to attend that morning. On that Sunday we’ll recognize MTSU alumni and current students. Also, on September 13, I’m starting a sermon series from Proverbs. I look forward to sharing the major themes of Proverbs and how they relate to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanks for all you do for the glory of God and for the work of His church called Third Baptist! May our Lord continue to increase our influence in this city and this world as we are helping people discover a life worth living! Your Pastor by His Grace and Yours, .
Mike Lee Senior Pastor

Tailgating At the Grove Saturday, September 5 It’s a tradition of college life before football games and we’re primed to continue that tradition. Home town MTSU plays Jackson State on September 5 and we will be there with plenty of food and fun! Gather at “The Grove” around 2:00 p.m.for the first home game of the season.
MTSU Appreciation Day Sunday, September 13 On Sunday, September 13, at our 9:15 a.m. worship gathering, our 3BC family and its college ministry, will take time to show our appreciation for all that MTSU means to our people and our city. We have invited representatives from MTSU to be a part of our Appreciation Day and are asking members to “Be Blue” that Sunday. We will recognize current students as well as alumni that morning. We are grateful for the impact MTSU has made on so many and the privilege we have to make an impact at MTSU. Join with us as we show our appreciation on this special day.
Death By Chocolate Tuesday, September 15 One of the most successful outreach efforts 3BC has been involved in is the unique “Death By Chocolate” event - a unique opportunity for 3BC and “The Community” to reach out to the students at MTSU. Because of this event’s spectacular success, we seek your help again this year by bringing any kind of home baked, chocolate desserts and treats to the church beginning Sunday, September 13 and no later than 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15. We will be serving these treats to the students of MTSU in the Atrium of the Student Union Building. The students have been
