If Unit DG measures smaller than 6½” x 6½”, adjust seam to a smaller seam. If Unit DG measures larger, use a ruler and trim units up to 6½” x 6½”. – Important to make sure units are the correct size. Test one first. Repeat steps above until you have 48 Unit DG. Arrange, pin and piece together: 4 Unit DGs to make one Block 1: If you pressed your seams up and to the right like above, each of your seams will nest when you join the 4 Unit DGs (circled).

Unit H: Make 10 triangle units measuring 18¼” on the longest side. Cutting Strips – (starching fabric recommended) Using Fabric 3 cut two (2) strips: 18¼” x WOF.

Sub cut strip into 3 squares that measure 18¼” x 18¼”. Yes, Large Squares – you may need to find a large mat to cut this with. Set leftovers from strips aside.

With each of the 3 squares, cut on both diagonals, from corner to corner. When cutting the second diagonal, make sure your pieces from your first cut do not shift.
You will have 12 triangles, keep only 10. Retrieve Unit E from Clue 2, and place directly on the corner of the triangle – right sides together. Sew directly on the line you drew. +

Place ¼” line of the ruler on the seam line. Trim ¼” away from the seam line. Press seam away from larger piece. Repeat until you have 10 Unit Hs. = 10
