Camp Format Saturday, October 28th 2017 9:30a - Check In/Late Registration 10:00a - Introduction 10:10a - Warm Up 10:30 - Instruct and talk about the importance of good catch play 11:15a - 60 yard dash, throws from the outfield, throws from the infield, catchers pop times, batting practice 1:00p - Lunch - Bring your own - Recruiting talk/tips 1:30p - Play a 9 inning game 3:30p - Special Speaker/Closing
Camp Instructors Lee Driggers, Union Univer sity Head Baseball Coach In his 44th year of coaching, Driggers has been a head coach at nearly every level of baseball including the professional ranks. Driggers has engineered a turn around at Union most recently guiding the program to 33 wins last year and qualifying for the Gulf South Conference Tournament. Driggers has won nearly 600 games as a collegiate head coach
Andy Rushing, Union Univer sity Assistant Baseball Coach Rushing in his second stint with the bulldogs is serving in year three. Rushing was the head coach of the Union program from 1989 to 2005. As the head coach of the program he won well over 500+ games.
Jimmy McDonald, Union Univer sity Assistant Baseball Coach McDonald enters his first season as pitching coach/recruiting coordinator after most recently serving as an assistant at Dartmouth College in the Ivy League conference. McDonald pitched collegiately at Wheaton College where he played for current Union head coach Lee Driggers.
Eddie Blanchard, Union Univer sity Assistant Baseball Coach Blanchard is in his second year with the bulldog program. He helped lead the bulldogs to an impressive 33-20 record last year qualifying for the conference tournament. Before Union Blanchard served in the infantry in the United States Army.
