St. Luke’s serves hundreds of children and youth from birth through college and young adult age through multiple worship experiences and activities that are age appropriate.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Family Ministries Administrative Assistant will provide support by coordinating a variety of details including:  Both children’s and youth ministry are a part of Family Ministries  Registration information of all Family Ministry events including forms, attendance and balances ● Coordinate travel and accommodations for mission trips, retreats, events and activities ● Coordinate with staff and commissions in an effort to support volunteers with logistics

Welcomes students, parents, volunteers, and the community to Family Ministries Embraces the vision and identity statements of St. Luke’s Participates in weekly staff meetings Has a working knowledge of the family ministry calendar and resources necessary to execute Works with staff in coordinating finance and budget items Updating and working within church software programs Recruit, motivate and resource volunteers in a way to set everyone up for weekly programming success Assemble all materials necessary for weekly small group and large group environments; work with volunteers to keep resources areas and classroom cabinets stocked and orderly Prepare all ministry mailings – bulletins, hand-outs, flyers, letters, etc. Communicates clearly and consistently the goals and vision of family ministry with families, volunteers, fellow staff members, and the church Manages event registration for activities, retreats, camps, mission trips and confirmation

Support the tracking of individual families and children within the family ministries through our church management system Respond compassionately to children, youth and families; intentionally seek to build relationships with others; remain accessible and approachable Model a Christ-filled life, maintaining appropriate boundaries with work and others, caring for self, and growing in faith and in profession

QUALIFICATIONS        

Teachable Proficiency with Word and Excel Willingness to learn programs such as ACS, The City, Gmail, Calendaring, and Google Documents A professional, relational demeanor, in all forms of communication Excellent organizational skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Flexibility that honors priorities in each ministry area Self-Starter with good judgement. Sees what needs to be done and takes action without waiting for direction from others.

The ideal candidate is a person passionate about the Christian faith, who actively seeks to grow in personal relationship with God, who is committed to the mission and vision of St. Luke’s and who serves out of a sense of call. This is a full-time hourly position. Some scheduling flexibility required.
