FARNBOROUGH VOLLEYBALL CLUB (FVC) Thank you for your interest in our volleyball club. This flyer is intended to give you an overview of how our Club operates. Please also feel free to ask any questions to any of our members or the committee. We look forward to see you again soon!
OUR T RAI NING SESSIONS The indoor volleyball season runs from beginning of September to end of May. Wednesdays 6pm – 8pm at Aldershot Garrison This is our open session where we welcome players of all levels to come along and play. We offer coaching with volleyball drills, and usually play some games at the end of the training session. Mondays 7pm – 9pm at Aldershot Garrison
AB O UT US We are a friendly, international bunch of volleyball enthusiasts from all walks of life and of various skill levels. As a club we therefore cater for all standards of volleyball, competitive or non-competitive, and aim to introduce newcomers to the game. We have got a number of Volleyball England qualified coaches who take it in turns to run the training sessions. The club is currently made up from about 40 members of different skill levels and we have several teams of varying standards competing in the Berkshire Volleyball league. During the summer months, we travel to numerous outdoor tournaments all over the South, and even as far as the Netherlands! These tournaments are competitive - with a big helping of fun, sun and socialising! And of course lots and lots of volleyball!!! Intrigued? Come along to one of our Wednesday training session to try it out. The first two sessions are completely free! Feel free to visit our website at www.fvc.org.uk.
This is a session for advanced players, and is by invite only. The net height alternates between the men's and ladies height on a fortnightly basis. Talk to our head coach Simon Laws if you would like to be invited. The Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre is located on the Rawlinson Road in Aldershot, GU11 2BG; off the Princes Avenue in North Camp (map:http://www.qype.co.uk/place/602417-Aldershot-GarrisonSports-Centre-Aldershot). Over the Summer… The Monday sessions continue to run indoors as usual. The Wednesday sessions take place outdoors at Frimley Lodge Park, Frimley Green, Surrey GU16 6HY.
OUR T EAM S The FVC is represented by several teams in the Berkshire Volleyball League (http://berkshirevolleyball.org.uk/). We are always looking for players to join our teams and expand.

However, feel free to talk to us at any time if you have got any queries or questions. We hold an Annual General Meeting in May. All our Club Members are encouraged to bring ideas to help shaping the Club.

As anything in life we need to charge you a fee to pay for hall hire, equipment and membership fees. We have just reviewed it recently to make it fair. Club Membership Fee If you would like to play in a team you will need to become a member. It also gives you the opportunity to vote on our MGM and shape the Club and gives you discount on training fees. S O CI AL AC TI VI TI ES We usually go out for dinner and drinks after training (around 9pm) every first Wednesday of the month. Everyone is welcome to join. Siv will send out invitations via the Yahoo Group prior to the event. Summer tournaments Our Club participates in many competitions during the summer, and everyone is welcome to join in, and help with organisation. Invitations for individual tournaments will be sent out from spring onwards.
