February 16 - March 3 Mandatory Introduction Session February 16 • 6:00 – 8:00 pm Business & Training Center, Marshalltown, Room 205 Final CDL Testing February 27 - March 3 Your on-site training and testing date will be scheduled for one day on the week of February 27 and will be arranged with the instructor on the first day of class. Final testing dates are subject to change based upon class size and need.
Fee $540 GAP Tuition Assistance available to those who qualify. Funding deadline is February 2. Contact Jennifer Rice at 641-844-5629 or [email protected]. Please be advised that to qualify for funding, interested applicants must complete the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) with Workforce Development Center by calling 1-800-284-4838.
Course Requirements
Valid driver’s license • Email address Access to high speed internet • CDL A learner’s permit 3 written tests completed with DOT prior to registration
What Is Included? Designed for those seeking their CDL A with airbrakes’ endorsement. This is not designed for those seeking to drive over-the-road, but will provide everything needed to obtain employment as a local CDL driver. This class covers: general knowledge; backing; CMV defensive driving and hazard awareness; CMV vehicle maintenance/ service; CDL pre-trip inspection training and testing; CDL skills maneuvers; driving preparation and testing. Class Outline 1. Attend mandatory on-campus session & receive login information and further instructions for completing your online coursework. 2. Complete coursework online and via email and submit to instructor. 3. Come back to campus on the training and testing date scheduled with your instructor to receive “hands-on” training and driving time with our trainer. 4. Our trainer is certified to test you on the same date. 5. Go to your local DOT office and pay for your CDL license. Registrants may access free study materials for the CDL Learner’s Permit testing on our website at www.IowaValley.com under the CDL Page or contact IVCE for more information.
