Using Braincheck in a Private Practice ALASKA NEUROFEEDBACK LLC, ANCHORAGE, AK
Background • 3-4 years ago my Business took off and began to focus on TBI clients. • Dr. Amy Murphy (now Dr. Amy Kolarova) • TBI Specialist • EEG Info training or Consultation, Sue mentioned Braincheck 2 years ago • Looking for a quick method to show progress through the program. • TBI and PTSD similar symptoms
What I Knew Going In
• Test was designed for Concussions • The test is quick (10 minutes) • Designed for a group organizations like sports • Standardized for concussions • Memory and other features were in development • Like integrating with an electronic note charting company • The test is portable and can be administered anywhere
What I Hoped to Learn
• Compliment the QIK and Symptom Tracker in showing NF Progress • See if it would help those who are poor reporters. • Possibly help optimized ORF and Placements (very rough draft goal).
What I Liked About the Test
• Its Quick • Test 8 areas • Visual, coordination, memory, decision-making skills • It's Portable • It's expanding from Concussions: Memory, Changes with Medication, No Specific Reason
Technical and Administering
• iPad Mini in an Otterbox Defender with screen removed • Pain, frustration from flaps, grip, drops • Goal, administer every 2 to 3 weeks • Goals and reality do not always go together • Consistent Technical issues with the updates

Outcome
• My knowledge and usage of the test is still too limited • I currently quit using it because of the technical issues • I see it has great potential once everything is stabilized • At the moment I still see it best used for what it was originally intended for concussions in a group organization.
