breakfast “I make a breakfast bircher using grated carrot, peeled apple, blueberries and raspberries with chai seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and chopped walnuts with chopped grapefruit. Then I mix in Greek yoghurt.” NUTRITioN CONSULTANT Ian marber says, “Making bircher muesli at home is quite an effort but worthwhile as it’s delicious and rich in antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and fibre. The yoghurt adds some good quality protein, too. Ferne could add in quinoa for a few complex carbs.”

LUNCH “I had sliced avocado on top of toasted rye bread with 0 per cent fat cottage cheese and loads of squeezed lemon, black pepper and Tabasco. Bob’s your uncle!” Ian says, “This is a great lunch, offering protein, complex carbs and some good fats. Ferne could sprinkle a few sesame seeds on top for texture and a little more protein, as well as some sliced cucumber or tomato for antioxidants.”

SNACKS “I ate a banana, cashews, walnuts, almonds and loads of blueberries. I like to have two dates a day and I drink green tea. Then I will have a cheeky glass of wine. I have dark chocolate every night – I can’t help it!” Ian says, “Nuts are a first rate snack as they combine protein with fibre, which helps to manage your appetite. Green tea and dark chocolate are both rich in polyphenols, but dark chocolate contains caffeine, so avoid having too much late at night.”

Would you say you’re body confident? I don’t think anyone is ever 100 per cent happy – everyone always tries to be better and more toned – but at the moment I’m feeling pretty happy! I think that for body confidence you have to wear the right things to fit your shape. How often do you work out? I like to keep really active, even if it’s just a 20-minute HIIT session. I like to train at least three times a week, but it’s so hard when you’re busy, so I have to drag myself to my personal trainer. What parts of your body do you focus on in the gym? My arms have got bigger, so I really need to get back on the cardio and do tricep dips. Is it true you’ve turned veggie? I was a vegetarian last year for about six months and then I went into the jungle and ate meat again. I’d been eating meat up until about two weeks ago, but now I’m more of a pescatarian. Is your diet healthy? My diet is really good actually, but I do love my treats. I fall off the wagon all the time and order a Chinese takeaway. And I love that extra glass of wine. How often do you drink alcohol? Probably three times a week. How often do you have cheat days? Like, twice a week. I’ll have a massive roast dinner or order a pizza with the girls, or I’ll end up eating a whole bar of chocolate. It happens. I get such satisfaction and fulfilment from food. What’s your favourite part of your body? I really like my toes [laughs] and my back. There’s nothing sexier than getting your back out. I love my pins, too. You can’t be 5ft 8in and not get your pins out! Is there any part you’d change? My arms have spread – I’m getting the middle-aged spread all over. Which celeb has your dream body? I absolutely love Kylie Jenner’s. Was the pressure of wearing a bikini on I’m A Celeb a big deal for you? Not really, I was just so buzzing to be asked to join the jungle! I really didn’t have time to think about it.

My food diary

“I made a stir-fry with loads of veg, including mangetout, baby corn, red pepper, spring onions, garlic, fresh red chilli, grated ginger, mushrooms and broccoli. I mixed in Chinese five spice, brown sweet miso paste and soy sauce and fried it in coconut oil. Sometimes I’ll add sweet potato wedges.” Ian says, “Stir-frying ensures the vegetables are crisp and satisfying while coconut oil offers medium chain triglycerides, a type of fat that can be useful for energy production. Ferne could add some tofu for a higher protein option.” Follow Ian Marber on Twitter @IanMarber
