] Why Take Field Trips? School field trips are exciting and engage children. Field trips bring children out of their routines and give them the opportunity for meaningful educational experiences. School field trips give students more opportunities for "hands-on learning." For example, instead of just reading about milking cows, students who visit a dairy farm can observe cows being milked, and possibly even get to try it themselves. When students go on field trips, they are taught by more people than their regular teachers. They are brought out into the community to interact with experts in their fields. Often hearing something from a different source other than your regular teacher helps students pick up on the information better. The things children see and experience on field trips can increase their motivation for learning. Being out and about in the community and seeing how adults are using their educations inspires students to persevere.

Field trips result in greater appreciation and respect for the institution that was visited. Greater understanding builds interest and care about their own future.

What Will The Students Learn? There are three main areas of focus for our field trips. Below is an outline of what your student will learn at this Character Building Field Trip. 1. Good Attitude a. Having a “Whatever it Takes” Attitude. b. Having an “Attitude of Gratitude” c. Being a Good Finder 2. Good Habits a. You don’t have to want to do it; you just have to do it (SelfDiscipline) b. Dinner before dessert (Instant Gratification vs. Long-Term Benefits) c. Always take responsibility for your actions 3. Being a #10 a. Doing your best is more important than first place b. Surrounding your-self with the right people c. Respect – Yes Sir/No Sir – Yes Mama/No Mama In our first area of focus your students will discover the power of having a good attitude. Success in life is determined by attitude more than anything else! Other things such as intelligence and environment can certainly help, but nothing is more important than attitude. The theme of this section is…“My Attitude Determines My Altitude.” The second area of focus will impart good habits to your students. The goal of this section will be to teach the value of having good habits. The theme of this section is… “Good Habits are Hard to Make, but Easy to Live With. Bad Habits are Easy to Make, but Hard to Live With.” Lastly, our third area of focus will teach your students how to be a #10. The goal of this section will be to teach reeducate your students on wanting to be a #10 not a #1. Students will learn how to do this with how they grade themselves, friends and surroundings. The theme if this section is… “Grade Yourself on a Scale from 1-10. What Number are You?”
