Virginia Cooperative Extension Financial Education & Housing Counseling Program Whether you are thinking about buying your first home, are experiencing financial hardship, need information about tenant rights, or you just want to learn how to manage your money better, Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) has an opportunity for you. Workshops, classes and counseling in personal finance and first‐time homebuyer seminars are available throughout the county. We recommend an individual financial assessment to give you a current picture of your financial health. We will help you start your effective money management plan. Pre‐purchase home counseling or foreclosure prevention counseling is provided in confidential sessions with Certified Housing Counselors. Improve your personal financial management skills as you follow your plan of action toward financial success. VCE is a joint program of Virginia Tech, Virginia State University, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and state and local governments. VCE Financial Education And Housing Counseling Program VCE Prince William is an approved Local Housing Counseling Agency through the Office of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). VCE is affiliated with the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) and the Prince William County Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD). VCE follows the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling. CANCELLATION POLICY: VCE follows the Prince William County Schools’ closing policy. When Prince William County Schools cancel or close, VCE activities will be cancelled. Visit www.pwcs.edu for notices of closures or cancellations. The Prince William County First‐Time Home Buyer Program (FTHB) includes Smart Money Management, your Financial Assessment, and completion of the VHDA Home Ownership Seminar held at Virginia Cooperative Extension.
