Police report The following are selected initial-complaint reports filed by Shakopee police. Sept. 4 Theft of a cell phone was reported at 1:39 p.m. at Lake O’Dowd. The phone was left with shoes on the beach while the phone owner was swimming. An injury crash was reported at 2:18 p.m. on County Road 101 and Stagecoach Road. Theft of a purse from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of Saba’s Sports Bar, 911 First Ave. E., was reported at 3:11 p.m. An injury crash was reported at 4:04 p.m. on County Road 18 and Crossings Boulevard. Motor vehicle theft was reported at 4:05 p.m. on the 900 block of First Avenue E. The vehicle was later recovered. Sept. 5 A 29-year-old Shakopee man was arrested for motor vehicle theft, driving while intoxicated (DWI) and driving after revocation at 1:04 a.m. on Sixth Avenue E. and Market Street. A fire call was reported at Valleyfair at 10:21 a.m. An 18-year-old Shakopee man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:06 p.m. on the 300 block of Harrison Street. A hit-and-run property-damage crash was reported at 1:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of First Avenue E. A road-rage incident was reported

at 6:53 p.m. on Highway 169 and Canterbury Road. Sept. 6 Theft was reported at 12:24 a.m. on the 1200 block of Shakopee Avenue. Fraudulent use of motor vehicle plates was reported at 2:58 a.m. on the 1200 block of 10th Avenue E. Theft by fraud was reported at 6 a.m. on the 1300 block of Minnesota Street. A 13-year-old Shakopee boy was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana at 2:24 p.m. at the middle school. An injury crash was reported at 9:07 p.m. on County Road 101 and Stagecoach Road. Sept. 7 An injury crash was reported at 11:34 a.m. on the 1500 block of Vierling Drive. A school bus stop-arm violation was reported at 12:47 p.m. on Eagle Creek Boulevard and Marschall Road. A vehicle stolen in Burnsville was recovered at 1:51 p.m. on the 2900 block of Philipp Avenue. A hit-and-run property-damage crash was reported at 2:38 p.m. at Cub Foods. An abandoned boat and trailer was found at 3:39 p.m. on the 800 block of Sarazin Street. Motor vehicle theft was reported at St. Francis Regional Medical Center at 4:09 p.m.

A 20-year-old Shakopee man was arrested for minor consumption and violation of his probation at 7:49 p.m. on the 1000 block of Van Buren Street. Sept. 8 A 19-year-old man and four 17year-old boys, all from Shakopee, were cited for minor consumption at 12:48 a.m. on Eagle Creek Boulevard and Pike Lake Road. A Shakopee man, 34, was cited for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, DWI, and third-degree test refusal at 6 a.m. on Fourth Avenue E. and Dakota Street. Theft of a purse, CD case and CDs from an unlocked vehicle was reported at 11:58 a.m. on the 1500 block of Vierling Drive. Burglary was reported at 2:01 p.m. at Medallion Cabinetry Inc., 4571 Valley Industrial Blvd. S. An American flag hanging on a garage door was reported burned at 2:12 p.m. on the 1100 block of Limestone Drive. Motor vehicle theft was reported at 5:41 p.m. on the 7400 block of Hampton Lane. A hit-and-run property-damage crash was reported at6:51 p.m. at

Wal-Mart. Car prowlers were reported on Minnesota Street and Clover Court at 11:55 p.m. Sept. 9 Theft was reported at Canterbury Inn at 12:05 a.m. A 50-year-old man from Siren, Wis., was charged with fifth-degree assault at 1:04 a.m. on the 800 block of Roundhouse Street. A Savage man, 23, was cited for disorderly conduct following a fight at Turtle’s Bar and Grill at 2:02 a.m. Motor vehicle theft was reported at 2:07 a.m. on the 100 block of First Avenue E. A window was smashed on a vehicle in the parking lot at Canterbury Park and a laptop inside was stolen, it was reported at 2:30 a.m. A boy, 17, was cited for minor consumption and another 17-year-old boy was cited for drinking and driving at 4:18 a.m. on the 1900 block of Downing Avenue. Both boys are from Shakopee. Theft of a purse left behind in the bagging area of Cub Foods was reported at 8:31 p.m. Theft was reported on the 7500 block of Devin Lane at 10:32 p.m. Sept. 10 Attempted burglary at Medallion Cabinetry, 4571 Valley Industrial Boulevard S., was reported at 5:39 a.m. Theft was reported at 8:33 a.m. on the 4200 block of 12th Avenue E.

Mr. Voxland asked Council’s direction to staff as to what to do. Cncl. Menden suggested that the department heads come back to Council with some expenditure reductions. Mr. Voxland asked if Council agreed to keep the Truth and Taxation date for the 2nd Monday in December as done in the past. Council agreed. Mr. Voxland asked if the Council wanted to include the insert with the County’s mailing. Council agreed to omit the insert. Mr. Voxland asked if the soccer complex and the Huber Park building should be included in the building fund or set up an internal service fund for park assets. Council agreed that an internal service fund should be set up for the park buildings. Mr. Voxland asked Council if they wanted to consider putting any money into the Park Reserve fund beside the Park Dedication. Council agreed that

the discussion about the $2,000,000 loan for park projects should be deferred to another time. Joos/Lehman moved to adjourn to Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried 5-0.
