Instructions to complete “Flashbulb Fuchsia” earrings: Tip The letters A – C designate the beads used. Please refer to the materials list above for the key. Step 1 Thread a needle with approximately 6 feet of beading thread, and wax the thread. Stitch a bezel around one crystal Rivoli stone (see Peyote Stitch Bezel Technique) using the following pattern: Rounds 1 and 2: String 36 A. Tie a square knot with the working thread and tail, leaving one bead width of space. Round 3: 18 A Round 4: 18 B (back of bezel) Round 5: 18 C (back of bezel) Round 6: 18 B (front of bezel) Round 7: 18 C (front of bezel) Step 2 Work the needle to the center round of the bezel (round 2), exiting one A. String one A, and enter the next A in the round. Continue stitching one A between every two A in the round. Step 3 String 4 C, the loop on one ear wire, and 3 C. Pass back through the first C strung in this step and the next A in the round. Step 4 String one 3mm crystal bicone bead, and pass through the next A. Continue stitching one 3mm crystal bicone bead between every two A in the round. Weave the thread back and forth several times to secure. Trim the thread, and burn the thread end with a Perfect End Thread Burner (see Using a Perfect End Thread Burner Technique). Step 5 Repeat Steps 1 – 4 for the second earring.
