Flower Girl Materials for the Quilt

Cutting Instructions for the Quilt
Please note: all strips are cut across the width of the fabric from selvage edge to selvage edge.
From EACH of the seventeen assorted prints, cut: (1) 6½" strip. Recut into (3) 6½" x 6½" squares. (2) 2¼" strips. Recut into (12) 2¼" x 3" pieces. From the gold floral, cut: (7) 6½" strips for the middle border. From the green damask, cut: (8) 2¼" strips for the binding. From the red damask, cut: (8) 3" strips for the outer border. From the blue tile, cut: (6) 2½" strips for the inner border. From the cream vintage dot, cut: (4) 3" strips. Recut into (49) 3" x 3" squares. (11) 2¼" strips. Recut into (196) 2¼" x 2¼" squares.
Sewing Instructions for the Quilt
All seams are sewn using 1/4" seam allowance with pieces held right sides together and raw edges even.
1. Arrange (1) 3" cream vintage dot square, (4) 2¼" cream vintage dot squares, and (4) 2¼" x 3" print pieces into (3) rows with (3) units in each row, as shown in the diagram below. Be sure to use (4) different fabrics for the print pieces. Stitch the units into rows. Sew the rows together to make (1) block measuring 6½" from raw edge to raw edge in both directions. Repeat this procedure to make a total of (49) blocks.
2. Using the quilt pictured on the cover as a guide, arrange (50) 6½" assorted print squares and the (49) blocks made in step 1 into (11) rows with (9) units in each row, alternating the squares and the pieced blocks. Place the fabrics as necessary to create the secondary design. Stitch the units into rows. Sew the rows together. Trim 3" from each side of the quilt top to create the partial blocks that appear on all four outer edges of the quilt.
Page 1 3. Trim the selvages from the 2¼" blue tile strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, to make a long 2¼" strip. From this long strip, cut (2) 60½" and (2) 52½" lengths (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your quilt top). Stitch the longer lengths to the left and right sides of the quilt top. Sew the shorter lengths to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 4. Trim the selvages from the 6½" gold floral strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, to make a long 6½" strip. From this long strip, cut (4) 64½" lengths (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your quilt top). Stitch (2) lengths to the left and right sides of the quilt top. Sew the remaining (2) lengths to the top and bottom. 5. Trim the selvages from the 3" red damask strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, to make a long 3" strip. From this long strip, cut (2) 76½" and (2) 69½" lengths (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your quilt top). Stitch the longer lengths to the left and right sides of the quilt top. Sew the shorter lengths to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 6. Layer the completed quilt top with batting and backing and quilt as desired. Bind the finished quilt using the 2¼" green damask strips.

Using the project pictured on the cover as a guide, arrange (13) 6½" assorted print squares and the (12) blocks made in step 1 into (5) rows with (5) units in each row, alternating the squares and the pieced blocks. Place the fabrics as necessary to create the secondary design. Stitch the units into rows. Sew the rows together. Trim 3" from each side of the table topper to create the partial blocks that appear on all four outer edges of the project. 3. Trim (2) 1½" red damask strips to 24½" (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch the trimmed strips to the left and right sides of the table topper. Trim (2) 1½" red damask strips to 26½" (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch these trimmed strips to the top and bottom of the table topper. 4. Trim (2) 3½" blue paisley strips to 26½" (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch the trimmed strips to the left and right sides of the table topper. Trim (2) 3½" blue paisley strips to 32½" (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch these trimmed strips to the top and bottom. 5. Trim (2) 2" red damask strips to 32½" (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch the trimmed strips to the left and right sides of the table topper. Trim (2) 2" red damask strips to 35½" (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch these trimmed strips to the top and bottom. 6. Layer the pieced table topper with batting and backing and quilt as desired. Bind the finished project using the 2¼" red floral strips.

Page 2 From the cream vintage dot, cut: (4) 3½" strips for the middle border. From the green vintage dot, cut: (2) 3½" strips. Recut into (2) 3½" x 6½" pieces and (4) 3½" x 3½" squares. (1) 2¼" strips. Recut into (2) 2¼" x 3" pieces. (2) 1¾" strip. Recut into (12) 1¾" x 2¼" pieces.
Sewing Instructions for the Table Runner All seams are sewn using 1/4" seam allowance with pieces held right sides together and raw edges even.
1. Referring to step 1 from the Sewing Instructions for the Quilt, repeat the instructions to make a total of (3) blocks. 2. Arrange (2) 1¾" x 2¼" green vintage dot pieces, (1) 1¾" x 3" green damask piece, (2) 2¼" green damask squares, and (1) 2¼" x 3" print piece into two rows with (3) units in each row as shown in the diagram below. Stitch the units into rows and sew the rows together to complete (1) partial block. Repeat to make a total of (10) partial blocks, using the table runner pictured on the cover as a guide to correct fabric placement for each block.
3. Again using the project pictured on the cover as a guide, stitch 3" green vintage dot squares to each short side of a green vintage dot partial block, noting orientation, to make the top row of the table runner. Repeat this procedure to make the bottom row of the table runner. 4. Arrange the remaining (8) partial blocks, (3) 6½" print squares, (4) 3½" x 6½" gold vintage dot pieces, and (2) 3½" x 6½" green vintage dot pieces into (7) rows with (3) units each row, noting orientation of each of the partial blocks. Stitch the units into rows. Sew the rows together. Stitch the rows made in step 3 to the top and bottom of the runner. 5. Trim the selvages from the 1½" green damask strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, to make a long 1½" strip. From this long strip, cut (2) 48½" and (2) 14½" lengths (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch the longer lengths to the left and right sides of the runner. Sew the shorter lengths to the top and bottom. 6. Trim the selvages from the 3½" cream vintage dot strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, to make a long 3½" strip. From this long strip, cut (2) 50½" and (2) 20½" lengths (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch the longer lengths to the left and right sides of the runner. Sew the shorter lengths to the top and bottom. 7. Trim the selvages from the 2" green damask strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, to make a long 2" strip. From this long strip, cut (2) 56½" and (2) 23½" lengths (if your measurements are different, cut to fit your project). Stitch the longer lengths to the left and right sides of the runner. Sew the shorter lengths to the top and bottom. 8. Layer the completed table runner with batting and backing and quilt as desired.
