Step 1 Attach both left and right side rails to the truck bed. The rails are left and right specific and have been pre-assembled for your convenience. The end of the mounting rail with the drain tube fitting will go towards the cab of the truck. Slide the clamp assembly (3 per side) into the Utility rail, position one front, one center and one rear, Figure 2. Using three (3) clamps per side attach the rail to the bed, position the clamps adjacent to each of the black rail spacers. Position the side mounting rail flush to 1/8" above the top of the bed rail and hand tighten, Figure 1. Tighten the clamps using a 9/16" wrench or socket, Photo B. Warning! Do not overtighten the clamp assembly. A torque wrench is not necessary. If preferred, torque is apx 120 inch lbs. Warning! Clamps must be checked periodically for tightness. Failure to do so could result in damage to you or your property.

Place the Flex tonneau onto the mounting rails with the mounting (smallest) panel towards the cab of the truck and with the front flap covering the bulkhead (front of the bed), Photo D. Carefully unfold the cover, be sure the red handle on the first panel is in the open position, Photo E, Inset 2. Unfold each panel and position it so it is centered side to side and front to back on the pickup bed, Photo F, Inset 3. Test the rear most latching assembly for smooth and fluid operation as this is the best indicator of the cover being positioned correctly. Be sure the latches on both the left and right side are engaging with the cover mounting rail, Photo F.

Step 3 Once the cover is located correctly, fold the cover to the opened position. Locate the pull cable and release the latches as the cover is folded to the open position, Photo G. On the cab panel turn the red handle to the open position, Photo H. Take care to fold it gently so the position of the cover is not disturbed. Once in the fully open position place a front retainer clamp, flat washer, lock washer, and the star knob on the front mounting bolt underneath the cover and hand tighten, Photo J. Be sure the front retainer clamp is clamping to the side mounting rail correctly. Do not over tighten. Test the cover again for proper operation, adjust as needed and then tighten the star knobs. Attach the provided drain tubes to the fittings at the front of the mounting rails and position the end of the tubes to divert water out of the truck bed, Photo K. This can be done by placing the tube behind a bed liner, through an existing hole in the bed, or by drilling a 5/8" hole in the bulkhead.
