BELTON HONEA PATH HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME Section I.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the BHP Hall of Fame will be to recognize, honor and provide an enduring memorial for those persons whose outstanding contributions have enriched the athletic programs and brought honor to the school. Section II.
COMMITTEE
A committee of seven (7) members will serve as a Hall of Fame committee. This will include – President of the athletic booster club, Principal of BHP, Athletic Director of BHP and eight members who are approved by the principal of BHP. The committee of seven (7) members will serve a period of four (4) years. Two members rotate off each year. The committee shall be selected by principal and athletic Director and shall consist of seven (7) members including Principal and athletic Director. Other members will be community residents with involvement in Belton Honea Path High School. A chairman will be elected by majority vote. The chairman will call the meetings and present the names of those for consideration to the Hall of Fame. Section III.
GUIDELINES
These rules set forth the categories of individuals allowed for consideration as inductees to the BHP athletic Hall of Fame; the qualifications required of such individuals for nomination and election to the Hall of Fame and the procedure by which individuals shall be recommended, nominated and elected to the Hall of Fame. These rules, as modified from time to time as provided in Section 6 below, shall govern all nominations for and election to the Hall of Fame.
Section IV. A. CATEGORIES OF INDUCTEES ELIGIBILITY 1. Any BHP High graduate or graduate equivalency (GED) who received a varsity letter from the BHP Athletic Department. 2. Five (5) years must have elapsed for the nominees from date of graduation.

SPECIAL INDUCTEES Any individual who has made significant contributions to the BHP athletic Program shall be eligible. Special inductees include coaches, trainers and other individuals who are not necessarily eligible as an athletic inductee. Staff personnel should have been employed by the district a minimum of five years.
Section V. A. NOMINATION AND ELECTION PROCEDURES ANYONE MAY RECOMMEND ANY ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUAL FOR CONSIRATION AS NOMINEE. Each nomination shall be accompanied by information regarding the achievements of the individual recommended. Information should be supplied on a Form of Fact Sheet provided by BHP High. All such fact sheets shall be maintained by the committee. Upon recommendation to the committee, and individual shall be placed on the list of candidates to be maintained by the committee. All nominations must be submitted to the hall of Fame Committee by June 1 of each year.
B. LIST OF CANDIDATES The list of candidates shall contain the names of all individuals who have been recommended and remain eligible for consideration as a nominee by the committee. The list of candidates shall contain other information as shall be relevant for consideration by the committee, including sport(s) and positions(s) played, year of graduation, letter earned and notable achievements. If not inducted within five years after placement on the list of candidates, an individual shall be removed from the list of candidates. There shall be no limit on the number of times an individual may be recommended to the committee. C. NOMINATION FOR INDUCTION BY THE COMMITTEE Annual Meeting – During the spring of each year the chairman of the committee shall call a meeting of the committee to review individuals from the list of candidates and to discuss and select inductees for the Hall of Fame. SECTION VI. A. MODIFICATION Amendments and modifications to these rules may be made by vote no less than three fourths of members of the committee present at any meeting.
