VINTAGE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
Individuals may be nominated in one of the three following categories:
Athlete Coach Special/Other
To be eligible for introduction as an Athlete, an individual must have: 1. Graduated from Vintage High School at least fifteen (15) years ago – 2001 or earlier. If high school graduation was interrupted by military service, a person may be eligible, if not a graduate; 2. Participated in at least one interscholastic sport while a student at Vintage High School; and 3. Lived an adult life that did not discredit the school or the community. To be eligible for induction as a Coach, an individual must have: 1. Coached at least one interscholastic team at Vintage High School; 2. Been employed by or contributed services to Vintage High School for at least five (5) years and no longer be a coach at Vintage High School; and 3. Lived an adult life that did not discredit the school or the community. To be eligible for induction in the Special/Other category, an individual must have: 1. Participated in an activity that brought honor or positive recognition to the athletic department at Vintage High School; 2. Contributed in some substantial and significant way to the improvement of the Vintage High School athletic program; and 3. Lived an adult life that did not discredit the school or the community. The qualifications for the Special/Other category are written to be intentionally broad and relatively non-restrictive because the Vintage Hall of Fame seeks to honor people who have brought positive input to the athletic programs at Vintage High School. Former athletes or coaches who may not have Hall of Fame credentials, but make significant contributions to the success of the athletic program after leaving Vintage High School may qualify in this category.
Responsibilities of the Nominator 1. Provide current name, and contact information (current address, telephone number, email address) and graduating class of the nominee. If deceased, please provide the contact information for the next of kin. 2.
Provide a $25 nomination fee.
3. Provide accurate/detailed information on the accomplishments of the nominee, including but not limited to the following:
Sports played/coached Years of participation Awards won Records set Leadership awards Scholastic awards Scholarships earned Other
4. Provide documentation/evidence of all information provided in responsibility #3. Documentation may be in the form of newspaper articles, yearbooks, letters from coaches/teammates/colleagues, copies of certificates/awards, or any other proof of statement. Please limit your documentation to no more than 20 pages. Electronic images are preferred but not required. Please highlight the name of the nominee on all documentation submitted to make facilitate the evaluation process by the Selection Committee. 5. Undocumented descriptions of a nominee’s achievement may not be taken into consideration by the Selection Committee.
