For the week of May 7, 2017 Scripture: Psalm 88 “Goosebumps God” Big Idea: The goal of our relationship with God should be obedience. 1. Are you a person given to emotional experiences? Why or why not?

2. Describe a time when your decisions were led by feelings instead of facts? What was the result?

3. How do you best experience the presence of God? Why?

4. Read Psalm 88:13-14. Can you identify with the Psalmist in these verses? In what ways?

5. How do you determine whether or not God is “close to you”?

6. Has your faith rested more on “feelings and experiences of God” or “obedience to God”? What are some ways to make obedience to Him central in your faith?

7. Read Acts 17:24-27. How can you apply verse 27 to your life? What does it mean for us in terms of outreach and missions?

8. Do you think that you have missed out on some of God’s daily blessings while seeking the “sensational”? As you close in prayer, read the prayer of Psalm 51:10 and ask God to give you a clean heart to pursue obedience in your relationship with Him.
