THE GAME • The Fordham University Rams open their 2015 season, the 116th varsity season at Rose Hill, by traveling to Army West Point to face the Army West Point Black Knights in Michie Stadium on Friday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. THE SERIES • This will be the fifth meeting between Fordham and Army West Point on the gridiron • The Black Knights have won the previous four matchups • Army won last year’s game, 42-31, in Michie Stadium on November 22 FORDHAM IN SEASON OPENERS • The Fordham University Rams are 48-29 all-time in season openers since 1920, 9-17 since moving to the NCAA FCS in 1989 • Last year’s season-opening win over Saint Francis was Fordham’s third straight, after the Rams had dropped three straight opening day games. • On Jack Coffey Field, Fordham is 22-24 since 1970 in home openers but the Rams have won their past six home openers, including the win over Saint Francis last year. MOORHEAD LOOKING TO WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT OPENER • Fordham head coach Joe Moorhead is looking to become the first Fordham mentor to win his first four season openers since Jim Crowley won the season opener in each of his first four years at the helm from 1933-36. MOORHEAD BEST RECORD FIRST THREE YEARS • Fordham head coach Joe Moorhead has a 29-10 record in his first three years at Fordham, the best record for any head football coach at Fordham over his first three years. • • •

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The Fordham Rams enter the 2015 season without a quarterback on the roster who has attempted a pass in a college game. The lone player to have attempted a pass in a college game is punter Joe Pavlik, who threw a touchdown pass to Marc DeSisto last year at Army. It's not just quarterback where the Rams lack experience. Fordham also does not have a player on the roster who has attempted a field goal or extra point in a college game. www.fordhamsports.com 2002, 2007 & 2014 Patriot League Champions

HOME, SWEET, HOME Under head coach Joe Moorhead, the Rams have become very adept at protecting their home turf, winning 17 of the 18 home contests over the past three years, including the last 14 straight over the past two years. The only home loss for Fordham under Moorhead was the season finale in 2012 when the Rams missed a two-point conversion in the closing seconds that would have sent the game with Colgate to overtime. The seven home wins in each of the past two years broke the school record for most wins on Jack Coffey Field. The former record of six was set by the1987 squad (the Rams have used Jack Coffey Field since 1970).

NFL CONNECTIONS • Three members of the 2015 Fordham University football squad have connections to the NFL: • Senior linebacker Andrew Erenberg’s father, Rich, played at Colgate and then for three years with the Pittsburgh Steelers. • Junior defensive lineman Josh Klecko’s father, Joe, played for .eleven years with the New York Jets, while his brother, Dan, won three Super Bowl titles, two with the New England Patriots (2004 and 2005) and one with the Indianapolis Colts (2007). • Freshman Dylan Mabin's brother, Jordan, is a member of the San Diego Chargers. RAMS PERFECT IN NON-CONFERENCE PLAY • Over the past three years the Fordham Rams are 13-4 in non-conference play (not including the four NCAA FCS Championship games). • In 2013 the Rams were unbeaten against non-conference opponents with a perfect 6-0 record, the most non-conference victories for the Rams since the 2003 squad won five non-conference games. RAMS PERFECT FOLLOWING LOSSES UNDER MOORHEAD • The Fordham University football Rams are a perfect 7-0 over the past two-plus years coming off a loss under head coach Joe Moorhead (not counting the season-ending loss – but even so, the Rams won season openers in 2013 and 2014 after dropping the last game of the previous year).

Fordham Appeared in the First Televised College Football Game 76 Years Ago

On September 30, 1939, Fordham hosted Waynesburg College at Triboro Stadium on Randall’s Island. The game was the season opener for the Rams, who beat Waynesburg, 34-7. Announcer Bill Stern called the contest over station W2XBS (now WNBC) as a demonstration of this new medium at the World’s Fair. Two iconoscope cameras, which had just been patented by RCA, were used to televise the game with the images being sent to a relay station 10 miles from the stadium and then, by cable, to the top of the Empire State Building, where a large transmitter broadcast the game to the lucky few who owned a television in those days. A top-of-the-line set in 1939, a Clifton, sold for about $600. Notable Fordham players who appeared in the game include Len Eshmont and Dominic Principe, who went on to play in the professional ranks, as well as Ralph Friegden, father of former Maryland head coach Ralph Friedgen, who scored twice in the game and Donald Lambeau - son of Green Bay Packer legend Earl Louis "Curly" Lambeau.
