Confessing

Q. 84. What does every sin deserve? A. Every sin deserves God's wrath and curse, both in this life, and that which is to come. Q. 85. What does God require of us that we may escape his wrath and curse due to us for sin? A. To escape the wrath and curse of God due to us for sin, God requires of us faith in Jesus Christ, repentance unto life, with the diligent use of all the outward means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of redemption. Q. 86. What is faith in Jesus Christ? A. Faith in Jesus Christ is a saving grace, whereby we receive and rest upon him alone for salvation, as he is offered to us in the gospel.

Are all transgressions of the law equally heinous? A. Some sins in themselves, and by reason of several aggravations, are more heinous in the sight of God than others.

Forest Hill Presbyterian Church Mission Statement: Forest Hill Presbyterian Church is committed to being deeply rooted in God's Word and reaching our neighbors and the nations with the love of Jesus Christ.

Mission Passage: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how will it be made salty again? It is good for nothing anymore, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peck-measure, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Matt. 5:13-16
