ROAD SAFETY A concerned parent again reported that there were inconsiderate drivers on Tuesday at 3pm pickup resulting in a jam on the Cannyreagh Road. I know it is really frustrating when traffic comes to a standstill but we do need a bit of ‘give and take’!

HAIR I repeat the section of our Uniform Policy sent out to parents in September as a number of our boys are attending school with close shaves and stepped designs. A failure to follow our rules will result in exclusion from extra-curricular activities.

JUNIOR CHOIR AT BLOOMFIELD SHOPPING CENTRE Our Junior Choir will be singing at Bloomfield Shopping Centre on Monday 12th December from 11.30-12.00. If you are in the area, please come along and support them. We will also be collecting for Blythswood Shoe Box appeal. YEAR 1 – YEAR 4 CHRISTMAS SERVICE This will be held in First Presbyterian Church at 9.45am on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th December. To ensure a ‘spread’ in audience we would request the following, of course we understand some parents may have to come on a specific day due to other commitments. Tuesday 13th December ~ Yr 1& Yr 3 Parents invited Wednesday 14th December ~ Yr 2 & Yr 4 Parents invited SENIOR CHOIR will be performing at our Year 1-4 Christmas Services so please ensure that children come to school in their full choir uniform on these days.

WEAR SOMETHING CHRISTMASSY DAY Tuesday 20 December The Pupil Council are organising this special fundraising day in aid of the NSPCC. To get us all in the Christmas spirit just before we get off for the holidays, we are hoping that everyone will come to school wearing their favourite Christmas jumper, Santa hat, reindeer antlers, etc. We don’t mind whether you wear a shop bought jumper or a tinsel creation of your own, just as long as it’s festive and fun! We suggest a donation of 50p but we are grateful of any support you can give to this very worthwhile charity. The Pupil Council will be visiting every classroom on the day to collect donations and take photographs. Thank you in advance for your support. Ho! Ho! Ho! ABSENCES As we keep a monthly check on absences and have regular meetings with our Education Welfare Officer, I can advise that we have dipped slightly below our target due to some children with persistent absences and holidays booked in term time. There are, of course, genuine reasons for absence, these include illness and medical appointments. Please help us to keep our record of being above the NI average. POST PRIMARY OPEN DAYS – YEAR 6 & YEAR 7 PARENTS PLEASE NOTE A list of dates of the December and January Open Days is available on our website or from the school office if you missed it on the reverse of last week’s Friday Note. MENU – CANTEEN Please see over for the menu for next term – remember to keep this copy for reference in the new year.

“Hair & Make up Please, to maintain discipline, no extreme hair colours / styles or make-up. We will not accept inappropriate styles for our pupils. This would include unnatural colours or close shaves.”
