Our school is currently participating in the Catholic Identity Project which is a process of assessing how we as a school operate in accordance with the vision of Catholic Education. The project is supported by the Townsville Catholic Education Office and will hopefully provide our school with goals for enhancing our Catholic Identity over the coming years. Catholic Schools should not be seen as private schools but rather places where students from all backgrounds can grow and develop spiritually as well as academically. Parents are invited to answer a few short questionnaires which should take approximately 30 minutes. The website can be accessed by clicking HERE or going to http://www.schoolidentity.net/ . The password is Ghj654. There are a couple of difficult sections in the survey and I am happy to provide parents with a computer and support next Wednesday at 8.45am or that afternoon at 2pm. Your support for the project is greatly appreciated. The photo below is not of a picnic hamper but rather lunch items taken from one of our rubbish bins last Friday. As you can see a lot of good food is wasted each day with children bringing over-packed lunchboxes or not liking what has been packed. While teachers do their best to ensure food has been eaten before playing, parents should take a few minutes every now and then to speak to their children about how much and what foods they like to eat. Children often prefer to have a bigger morning tea and then a snack at lunch. A quick check of the lunchbox after school will also give you some idea of your child’s eating preferences.
Finally, there have been a number of reports of what can only be described as “bizarre” behaviours in our car park over the past week: cars entering the exit driveway to the right of the Church and cars parked in the drive-through in front of the Church. Once again I ask families to consider all users of the car park rather than just themselves.
