Cavendish strawberry, which originates in Nova Scotia, is the result of a cross between two varieties known for their winter hardiness and attractive, large fruit. Jersey blueberry is a late-season variety that is easy to grow, high-yielding, and one of the oldest and most widely grown blueberry varieties. The berries are dark blue, medium in size, and very sweet. A tall and well-shaped bush, it has excellent ornamental value.

Red Raspberry: A soil pH level of 6.5 - 6.8 is recommended for raspberry plants. Caroline raspberry has a larger berry than Heritage and is more productive, with a rich, full, and intense raspberry flavor. It is a very vigorous variety, with more tolerance for root rot than Heritage. The farther south you grow it, the earlier it will ripen. Caroline is widely adapted, growing everywhere from the East Coast to the West Coast. This variety does not tolerate high heat and drought.

Currants: Blanca is a white currant that yields heavy, off white fruit on long strigs. The immature fruit is tart, but turns sweeter when fully ripe. Blanca is used for winemaking, juice, and for fresh consumption as well as general use. This vigorous variety has a spreading growth habit and produces fruit at midseason.

Fruit Trees Peach:

A soil pH level of 7.0 - 7.2 for asparagus plants is recommended. Asparagus plants produce a light harvest in the 2nd year, a larger harvest the 3rd year, and a full harvest in subsequent years. Best in Zones: 3 – 8. Freezing Quality: Excellent

Horseradish: We have selected the horseradish strain "Big Top" for its size, vigor, wide adaptability and resistance to foliage diseases, rust and bacterial spot (all common problems in horseradish). These horseradish plants are top performers; a few roots will last a lifetime.

Rhubarb: The Cawood rhubarb variety has deep red color and slightly thick stalks. Cawood Delight has a stout growth habit that will excel in northern areas. It may struggle in areas with long periods of high heat. We have had a lot of positive feedback on this variety from commercial growers and home gardeners.

Native Plants When native plants introduced into landscape the plantings are hardy, less susceptible to pests and diseases and unlikely to escape and become invasive. With properly selected native plants, it may not be necessary to modify soil characteristics at all to have thriving gardens. The great variety of plants native to any region give gardeners options that work well in any type of garden design. Because maintaining native plants requires less work, they provide excellent choices for large commercial landscapes as well as residential gardens.
