June 13-16 Spire Institute Boys Entering Grades 6-9 1-3:30pm (M,T,W,H)
The Camp: The Geneva Eagles Team Camp is led by Geneva head coach, Chip Sorber and his football staff. The philosophy of the camp is to give student-athletes entering grades 6-9 an opportunity to learn the basics of the Eagles Offensive & Defensive schemes utilized by all Geneva football teams. Athletes will be broken into groups by the following positions: QB's, RB’s, TE’s, Offensive Line, and Receivers on the offensive side of the ball and DB’s, DL, and LB’s on defense. Camp Staff Chip Sorber- (Head Coach)- Coach Sorber is entering his first season as the Eagles head coach and 25th year overall. Coach Sorber was previously the head football coach at Cardinal High School and most recently the offensive coordinator at Chardon High School where he also coached the quarterbacks. Coach Sorber also has served as defensive coordinator at Chardon. Mr. Sorber has also coached varsity football at Madison and Geneva High Schools.
Jay Corlew- Coach Corlew is beginning his 31th year of coaching. He has been a head coach at first Ledgemont High School and Lakeside High School and offers a wealth of coaching experience to our program. Coach Corlew coaches the runningbacks on offense and linebackers on defense.
Chris Clemens- Coach Clemens is an alumni of the Geneva Football Program. He has previously been coaching in our middle school program the past 5 years where he has built a strong program. Coach Clemens is entering his 3nd year with varsity program and will be coaching our offensive and defensive lineman.
Bill Lipps- Coach Lipps is entering his 30th year coaching football. He has served as a head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator during his coaching experiences. Coach Lipps will serve as the Eagles Defensive Coordinator/Inside Linebackers and will assist with the running backs on offense.
Matt Peet- Coach Peet is entering his 2nd year on the Eagles varsity staff. He also continues to coach and play a crucial role in the GYFL.. Coach Peet will be coaching the quarterbacks/running backs on offense and the defensive backs on defense
Jay Iaopalo- Coach Iapalo is starting his 2nd season on the varsity staff this year. He has spent sometime coaching youth football for the Riverside football program. Coach Iapalo will be coaching both the offensive and defensive lineman
Frank Carraher-- Coach Carraher is also an alumni of the Geneva Football Program. Coach Carraher has been coaching in the middle school the last 6 years. Coach Carraher will be working with the Running backs and the defensive backs.
Shane Clugh- Coach Clugh is also an alumni of the Geneva Football Program and is entering his 2ndt season with the Eagles. Coach Clugh will be coaching the split ends and the defensive backs as well as our JV team.
