FAMILY, FANS, ALUMNI & FRIENDS: My apologies for having missed the last couple editions of the Warrior Insider. Many of you may already know, but if you don’t, I lost my father near the end of January after a month long battle with pneumonia. That is me pictured with both he and my mom at the 2015 Warrior Volleyball Banquet. The loss of a loved one is a very difficult thing to comprehend, getting through each day can be even more difficult. But when you have a strong family, you can get through anything— and that is message I would like to pass along. Our Warrior Volleyball Family is strong, supportive, and downright amazing the way we come together in a time of need. I could not be more proud to be a part of this family that we are developing here at Wayne State. It grows stronger with each passing day, and I am honored to be a small part of this group of amazing people. Before he passed, my dad told me to tell the team to “play good volleyball”. They do way more than that…….Thank you! Spring Schedule Set for 2017 WSU Volleyball has announced its four Spring Competition dates for 2017. The Warriors will open Spring play on March 25th at Eastern Michigan in a six team tournament. Play begins at 9am. April 1st will see the Warriors in action at their annual home event. April 8th, WSU will travel to Saginaw for the SVSU Spring event with the final competition for the spring coming the next weekend, April 15th at the Premier Academy Collegiate Invitational in Toledo, Ohio. Start times for the final two weekends have yet to be determined. Come out and Support your Warriors as they prepare for what looks to be an exciting 2017 Season. Warriors Announce 2017 Recruits Following its best season since 1998, the Wayne State University volleyball program has signed four studentathletes to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period. Head coach Tim Koth is excited about the addition of the quartet and looks forward to the continued improvement of the program as he concludes his third season at the helm. "The 2017 WSU Volleyball recruiting class has a chance to be very special!" said head coach Tim Koth. "They bring size, athleticism and high level experience at both the high school and club levels with them to Midtown. They also bring some excellent credentials academically. We look forward to having them join us in August and to the many things they will contribute to Wayne State University."
