GE Lakers FC Meeting Minutes March 22, 2016 – 8:00p.m. Those in attendance: Brianne Henrichs – Park District Patty Wagner -- Fields Rob Quintos – Treasurer Bryan Powell – Co-Chair Meghan Meyer – Girls Coordinator Anne Weber – Boys Coordinator J.T. Church – Vice Chair Liz Semple – Secretary Leo Lanzillo – High School Boys Coordinator Jen Chibucos – Equipment/Uniforms Kenta Shinohara – Tournament Director Jen McNulty – Parent of Lakers player and Doctor to discuss concussion testing Those not present Ruben Stivan -- Training Brianne Henrichs – Park District The meeting was called to order at 8:03 pm. The meeting minutes from February 8, 2016 were approved by unanimous vote. Discussion began with welcoming new members. Next, Brainne provided an update on the BU 12 Green and BU 14 Green teams. She shared that Ruben is in the process of setting up a meeting to introduce the new trainer, Dan Riskin, to the parents/players of BU12 Green and B14 Green. Dan will begin training these teams for the spring season. Vice Chair – JT Church JT will work with Brianne, Meghan, and Anne to make sure everything is ready for tryouts. He will send out a volunteer sign up schedule for board members to sign up to help on the day of tryouts.

JT will work on proposing a date for a Chicago Fire or Red Stars game for this spring or summer as a special event for Laker players and families. Secretary – Liz Semple Liz will set-up volunteer spot as a new tool to be used to recruit parent volunteer throughout the year. Liz will immediately recruit parent volunteers to serve on the concussion committee with Jen McNulty and Clint. Fields – Patty Wagner Patty reported that over half the games have been inputed into appointment plus. No problems thus far. Patty will follow-up with Angeline in regard to the new change of Bonzi reserving the second referee to ensure that Appointment Plus and Bonzi have the same game days/times. Boys Coordinator – Anne Weber Anne brought up a concern voiced by parents about the NISL policy on U14 boys teams who have 2002 birth year, but are not in highschool Brainne will call Brendan at NISL and find out what the policy is and let Anne know so she can communicate with the players this affects. Girls Coordinator – Meghan Meyer Meghan reported to concerns at Memorial Field. They are requesting a portal toilet be placed there for the spring soccer season and that Brianne reach out to the high school soccer team and ask if they would be willing to store our corner flags if we allow them to use them. Uniforms/Equipment– Jen Chibucos Brianne ordered first aid kits and ice packs for the spring season. When they arrive they will be given to Jen Chibucos and she will distribute them to the team managers or place them in the green storage bin. Brianne will get Jen Chibucos a key to the storage bin. Treasurer – Rob Quintos Rob reported that he received 2015 financial information from Clint and will set-up a meeting with Brianne to input new 2016 financial information. High School Boys Coordinator – Leo Lanzillo Leo reported the high school teams have dropped down from 3 teams to 2 teams. Leo will get final rosters into NISL. Leo recommended a open tryout for the fall season for high school students in the birth years-2000 and 2001(Brianne will confirm these birth years are correct before minutes are posted)???. Brianne will set this up for the spring and get back to Leo on dates/times. Training – Ruben Stivan Ruben was not present. Spring Training Schedule is finalized and has been sent to all team managers. New Business --JT made a motion for Kenta Shimohara to take the position of tournament director. Anne Weber seconded the motion. All were in favor and Kenta accepted the nomination. --Jen McNulty provided information on concussion testing. After extensive discussion, it was recommended that a committee of parent volunteers be formed to review the Lakers concussion policy and do research on starting concussion testing for Lakers players 12 years and older starting in the fall. Jen McNulty and Clint Babicz will co chair the committee and Liz Semple will get parent volunteers to serve on the committee with them. Brianne will look into putting a form box to check on the online registration form for tryouts for players 12 years and older.
