Donation in Kind 15.08.11 Created the First Lady Janaki Venkataraman Medical Room for children to use when they are sick. She provided two cots, two beds, bed sheets and pillows used by the First Lady herself, and an inverter, heaters, Godrej bureau, a table, six chairs, wash basin and weighing machine.

Events: Independence Day On August 15th 2011, Gnanodaya School celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour in its premises. The programme began with Flag hoisting followed by National Anthem and distribution of sweets by the Honorary Chief Guest Mrs. Krishnammal Jaganathan. She is a social activist struggling for sustainable human development and also the founder of Land for Tillers’ Freedom (LAFTI), an organisation empowering the rural poor by redistribution of land to the landless. Cultural programs were presented by the students. Our chief guest addressed the students on the importance of freedom and its essence in life.

Opening of The First Lady Janaki Venkataraman Medical Room On Independence Day Mrs. Krishnammal Jaganathan inaugurated the First Lady Janaki Venkataraman Medical Room sponsored by Mrs. Padma Venkataraman in remembrance of her mother the late Mrs. Janaki Venkataraman‘s. The Medical Room provides the children with easy access to primary medical and health care services.

Medical Treatment: Treatment was provided for 11 children diagnosed with illness such as chicken pox, fever, throat infection, and small cuts by Dr. Sathya Jagannathan and Dr. Mohan.
