PUBLIC NOTICE OF AVAILABILTY INITIAL STUDY/ MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION This is to advise that the Central Unified School District has prepared an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) that is available for review at the Central Unified School District, 4605 North Polk Avenue, Fresno California 93722, and the Fresno County Public Library, 2420 Mariposa Street, Fresno, California 93721. You are receiving this notice because you are the owner and/or occupant of a residence within 300 feet of the proposed school (see the figure below). Project Title: West Shields Avenue Elementary School Project Location: The proposed project consists of an approximately 10-acre site (project site). The project site would be primarily accessed from Fountain Way just north of West Shields Avenue and North Brawley Avenue intersection (APN 511-322-22). Project Description: The Central Unified School District (CUSD, as lead agency) is proposing to construct and operate West Shields Avenue Elementary School (Project), a kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school within the incorporated limits of the City of Fresno in Fresno County, California. The project would consist of approximately 54,974 square feet of building space on an approximately 10-acre site (project site) and accommodate up to 750 students. The proposed school facilities would include a two-story administrative and classroom building, a one-story cafeteria/multi-purpose room and amphitheater, an 83 stall parking area with solar paneling, a student drop-off area, and outdoor play areas. The District plans to make the play areas available to the public as recreational green spaces. Lead Agency:
