GREETINGS PLAYERS, PARENTS, COACHES AND BOARD MEMBERS WELCOME TO OUR CERTIFICATION – SCRIMMAGE GAMES STARTING AT 6PM ON MONDAY AUGUST 19TH, 2013 AT PONDEROSA HIGH SCHOOL Here is some info for everyone to have and please see the attached map.
The teams will scrimmage where our teams practice. Jr. Pee Wee’s will start the certification. JPW Coaches please line your team up on the basketball courts (the "certification zone") in alphabetical order and ask the players to please limit conversation. Head Coaches will need to facilitate a scrimmage game for 10 plays or 15 min and then rotate each team in/out i.e. offense-defense. Coaches should continue to rotate until they are notified to go to the certification zone. We will generally call the teams (all Midgets, etc.) at the same time which means if they are scrimmaging they will be asked to stop and have their players come to the zone in an orderly fashion and quietly line up alphabetically. After the football player has been weighed and certified, we will tell them to go sit down in the return “staging area” which is on the south side of the “zone” and wait for the entire squad to finish. An assistant coach should be there as the "staging area" monitor and please ask players to keep conversation down. Coaches will be responsible for escorting their team back to their field when the team is done certifying and continue to scrimmage until 8pm. Parents need to stay in the stands or in their chairs. Parents will not be allowed in the certification zone, staging area, or football fields unless directed by a board member. We ask our parents to please stay off the track, sit 10 yards back from the lines on the "pee wee" field, no tail gating, and please dispose of your own trash. Food will be on sale at our snack bar, parking lots are available on the North, South, and East sides of Ponderosa High School, but please car pool if you can...
