Hadleigh Junior School’s Art Exhibition On Monday 20th June we held an art exhibition in the Hall showcasing the children’s artwork. I was very impressed with the quality and variety of the pieces. It was wonderful to see so many members of the school community in the Hall viewing and buying artwork. Thank you to Mrs Tosh for organising this brilliant event and thank you to all those who came to see the exhibition. Artwork can still be bought up until Tuesday 28th June. Please place your order at the school office. Framed artwork is £8. Please see the school website or Facebook page for the centre page spread that appeared in the Evening Echo this week.

Year 5 Bikeability This week a group of year 5’s begun their Bikeability training. This is an essential road safety course, developing necessary life skills. This year we have offered sessions during school time in order to provide more pupils with the opportunity to participate. Already we have doubled our numbers from last year. We hope to continue to increase the number of children achieving the Bikeability standard.

Year 5 Story Planning It was great to see the whole of year 5 using The Quad to support their story writing planning process. The children were all very engaged in the activity, which involved answering a range of questions plotted around The Quad.

Summer Reading Challenge 2016 Thank-you to Hadleigh Library who kindly came in to talk to the children about ‘The Big Friendly Read’ during assembly this morning. Watch out for the Summer Reading Challenge 2016 leaflet coming home next week and let’s all get reading.

On behalf of the school I’d like to say a huge thank you to the PA for organising the Summer Fun Day. It’s a great community event and raises important funds to support our school. A special thank you to Corinna Pieper for her excellent organisation and dedication. I hope you enjoy the Summer Fun Day and the weekend ahead.
