“Outperform” maintained HANA’s 2Q16 net profit fell YoY as a result of the impact of inventory adjustment for notebooks/PCs; however, the result showed gradual improvement QoQ. 1H16 core profit accounts for 36% of our 2016 forecast and we believe that the electronic sector should pick up during the high season in 2H16 and benefit from the development of the new features of Windows 10. We maintain our 2016E target price of Bt34.5/share and an “Outperform” rating. Sales of computers/PCs pressured 2Q16 revenue HANA reported sales of Bt4,764mn in 2Q16, up 0.4%QoQ and 7%YoY, as the sales from the PCBA business in Lamphun dropped by 20%YoY and 8%QoQ, accounting for 37% of the total. In particular, sales of notebooks/PCs were impacted by the inventory adjustment in 1Q16. Meanwhile, the sales of PCBA and IC at the plant in China (24% of total revenue) fell 16%YoY due to the economic slowdown and sales of non‐standard IC products and sensors used in mobile phones; however, the sales of this segment showed 5%QoQ improvement. Finally, the sales of IC at the Ayuthaya plant (35% of the total revenue) grew by 9%YoY and 3%QoQ, contributed mainly by sales of standard IC products. 2Q16 core profit recovered QoQ HANA reported a 2Q16 net profit of Bt417mn, down 13.8%QoQ but up 4.5%YoY. Exclusive of FX gain/loss, HANA reported a core profit of Bt408mn, up 14.7%QoQ. Key factors included SG&A to sales that dropped to 5.6% vs. 6.8% in 1Q16 on the reversal of doubtful accounts in 1Q16 and better cost management. The gross profit margin remained rather flat QoQ at 12.3% but widened slightly from 12% seen in 2Q15, which could not offset the decline in total revenue. Therefore, the core profit fell by 7.6%YoY. 2016‐18E earnings forecasts maintained We maintain our 2016E earnings projection that calls for an 8.5%YoY decline due mainly to expected decreases in notebooks/PCs. The 1H16 core profit accounts for 36% of our full‐year forecast and we expect earnings to pick up in 2H16 due to the impact of the high season and development of new features in Windows 10.
