Community Outreach Needs Male Volunteers! We are about to begin a new Fatherhood Mentorship Program for incarcerated dads. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 24 million children in America – one out of three – live without their biological father in the home. This means there is a father factor in nearly all of the societal ills facing America today. Research shows when a child is raised in a father-absent home, he or she is affected in many ways. Children are more likely to have behavioral problems, more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, two times more likely to suffer obesity, and two times more likely to drop out of high school… and more. YOU can be a part of the solution. We are holding a training on June 13th for men who are interested in pouring into the lives of incarcerated fathers and helping them to become a positive presence in their child's life. If you are interested in being a part of this life-changing program, please call us at 301-737-4604. If you can not make the June 13th training but you are interested in volunteering for the program, please call us so that we can include you in future training dates.
