head coach WwOoMmEeNn’Ss BbAaSsKkEeTtBbAaLlLl donna finnie Dear Huskies Fans, We are excited to announce the establishment of the Husky Hoop Troop booster club, and hope you will join us this season! By joining the Husky Hoop Troop your contribution will help us continue to provide our program with the resources that will allow us to flourish. Husky Hoop Troop donations will help us cover much needed improvements to our locker room facilities, update and upgrade necessary equipment and allow us to plan a memorable preseason exhibition tour to prepare for the 2016 season. Being named head coach of HBU Women’s Basketball in April of 2013 was a highlight for me for so many reasons. Having spent 3 years as an assistant coach prior to taking over I was already invested in the players, the school and the program, which made the job even more special for me. In my first season as head coach, my staff and I were so proud of the strides made by our players both on the court and in the classroom. We finished the season with the highest division 1 win total in program history, and finished the second semester with the 12th highest GPA in division 1 (3.514), with all 13 players making the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. There were so many positives this past season, but we know we are still capable of so much more and will continue to strive for excellence as we move forward!
