Hilliard Girls Softball Association Parental Code of Conduct A requirement to participate in the Hilliard Girls Softball Association Intramural program is that a parent or guardian of each participant must read and sign this form prior to the first game. Each parent (guardian) is responsible for their actions and the actions of anyone attending with them or on their behalf. The purpose of our league is to teach the fundamentals of softball, the team spirit of the game, and the competition of the game, while keeping it fun and in good sportsmanship. Parents (guardians) will agree to the following: 1. Be a positive influence on the game. Respectful of others around them (fans, players, coaches, umpires, etc.). A. Cheers will be for your team. NOT against the other team. B. Loud, abusive comments toward anyone will not be tolerated. 2. If you have any concerns with a coach or coaching style, you must approach that coach in a civil manner AND after the game, completely away from the girls. A. Please be respectful of that coach’s style. If you are not pleased with his coaching decisions, the next thing would be to contact the Head coach, then the Commissioner, then a member of the Board of Directors. B. Remember you are setting an example to the girls. 3. Parents are not permitted to sit directly behind the backstop on any field. 4. The final score is not the most important thing on the field. Violation of these rules could result in the parent/ guardian (or any person acting on their behalf) being suspended, discharged, or other disciplinary action deemed necessary by the Board of Directors. It could lead to the removal of the daughter, if necessary. There will be no reimbursement of fees for disciplinary action taken. By signing below, I agree to conduct myself (and those in attendance with me) in a positive, civil manner. I will do nothing detrimental to the game, participants, fields, equipment or fellow spectators, while my daughter participates in the Hilliard Girls Softball Association.
