Hilltopper Basketball Camp WEST LIBERTY UNIVERSITY -West Liberty University is located 8 miles outside Wheeling among the rolling hills of West Virginia. -Overnight campers will be housed two per room in the air-conditioned college dormitories located on campus. *Camp Counselors will also be staying in the dormitories to monitor and provide assistance if needed. Campers will provide their own linens. -Overnight campers will receive three well balanced meals per day. -A professional medical trainer will be on duty at all times.

CAMP DIRECTOR Ben Howlett OFFICE PHONE: (304-336-8234) HOME PHONE: (740) 525-2952 Ben Howlett coached his fourth season under head Coach Jim Crutchfield. Howlett played on 4 consecutive 20 win seasons as a player at West Liberty University. In his 4 seasons, he scored 1663 points, putting him at number 12 on the all time scoring list. He shot 58.9 percent from the floor, ranking him 2nd on the all time list. During his senior season, Howlett averaged 24 points per game, ranking him 4th in NCAA division 2. Following his senior year, he made a transition to student assistant as he finished his degree. During this year, WLU went on to the sweet 16. Howlett then went on and coached at Ohio Valley University (NCAA Division 2) for the 2010-2011 season. During his 4th season back at WLU, Howlett and the Hilltoppers claimed the Mountain East regular season title for the 5th straight season. They
CAMP INFORMATION -DAILY SCHEDULE: Morning sessions stress the development of fundamentals and improving the individual skills of each player. Afternoons are filled with team drills, competitions, and league games. The evening sessions feature league play and recreational activities. *Campers will be divided into three leagues and play approximately 3 games per day. Teams will be formed according to age and ability.
CAMP OVERVIEW FACILITIES: Camp sessions will be held in the new Academic, Sports, and Recreation Complex. The 10.5 million dollar complex features four air-conditioned playing courts and an indoor running track. The air-conditioned dorm allows the athletes to relax after a full day of basketball. Campers receive 3 well-balanced meals per day. Additional athletic facilities include an indoor swimming pool, weight room, fitness center and a four lane running track.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE: Check-in will be between 1 and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Campers will depart at approximately noon on Wednesday. Arrangements can be made for early or late arrivals and departures. -COST: $250 per camper. A $50 deposit is required with application. The $200 balance is due at checkin. The fee covers room, meals, instruction, T-shirt, and other camp expenses. Therefore, campers need little cash at camp. The $50 deposit is fully refundable if notice is received by July 10th. After arrival at camp, no refunds will be given to athletes who depart from camp early. ****Parents will be sent an email notice when deposit is received along with additional information and items to bring.
