REGISTRATION FOR THE 2015 – 2016 SEASON IS OPEN. Click here to register your Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam player(s). Click here to register for our HIP/Learn to Play Hockey program. AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com. The difference is that when customers shop at AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. AmazonSmile does not provide detail on individual purchases. These donations will be given to the organization and will not be credited back to the skater’s family. Share this with all family and friends and they too can support De Pere Youth Hockey. AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service. Support your De Pere Youth Hockey by starting your shopping at https://smile.amazon.com/ch/39-1462028. Please contact Kristie Ott ([email protected]) with any questions.

Various chairperson and committee member positions are available now in the DIBS area of the website. We are seeking chairpersons for Hockey Days, the Redbird Rally, the Annual Banquet, the Brat Barn and the Memorial Day Parade. DE PERE YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER

YOUTH HOCKEY BOUNDARIES IN BROWN COUNTY WAHA has tasked all Hockey Associations in the State of Wisconsin to formally identify the boundaries under which these Associations operate. The goal of this endeavor will be to create a state map that can be referenced by families seeking to participate in youth hockey. Green Bay Area Youth Hockey and De Pere Youth Hockey took this request as an opportunity to clarify and realign the boundaries within Brown County. Each Association has in the past claimed a mixture of geographical and school district boundaries. This has caused confusion for both our Registrars who are responsible for maintaining membership details and new families who often join the sport due to the influence of the High School Sports environment. We are happy to announce that together we have elected to create Association boundaries that align with School District Boundaries. Your skater will skate with the Association based on the School District in which you reside. If your place of residence is in: Green Bay School District Ashwaubenon School District Howard – Suamico District Wrightstown School District De Pere Unified School District West De Pere School District Denmark School District

Your Association is: Green Bay Area Youth Hockey Green Bay Area Youth Hockey Green Bay Area Youth Hockey Green Bay Area Youth Hockey De Pere Youth Hockey De Pere Youth Hockey De Pere Youth Hockey

Players residing in Pulaski School District, Luxemburg-Casco School District, or other school districts outside of Brown County can choose the nearest Association that meets their needs. Once rostered (usually first year Squirt) this now becomes your family’s permanent home Association. (see WAHA Rule Article 1 F-2). What does this mean for you?  If you live in the school districts of Ashwaubenon, Howard-Suamico, WDP, De Pere, or Denmark there is no change for you – you continue to skate with the Association you have been part of.  If you live in Wrightstown your association is now Green Bay. This will allow your skater to assimilate with other skaters who will play for the Jaguar Hockey Team.*  If you live in the portions of Bellevue, and Allouez that are part of the Green Bay School District your affiliation is now with Green Bay.*  If you live in the area of Hobart that is in the West De Pere school district your affiliation is now with De Pere.  If you live in the Pulaski School District and have never rostered on a USA Hockey Roster (first year skater), you may choose to skate with either Shawano Youth Hockey or Green Bay Youth Hockey.  If you live in the L-C or another School District not listed and have never rostered on a USA Hockey Roster (first year skater), you may choose to skate with your nearest Association. * Denotes one exception: players who were rostered with an association for the 2014/2015 season at the squirt level and above will be provided a waiver to continue to play out their youth career with that association. Example: A second year Pee Wee was rostered in De Pere for the ‘14/’15 season but lives in the Green Bay school district section of Allouez. By definition, this skater should now move to Green Bay. The associations will allow this skater the opportunity to stay with De Pere for the remainder of their youth career if they choose to register with De Pere for the ‘15/’16 season. De Pere subsequently becomes that skater’s permanent association. Please note that all boundaries are based on the location of your residence. School choice decisions do not impact your association affiliation. We recognize that you may still have questions regarding these boundary changes and we encourage you to reach out to any of us to assist you. Thank you to the Board Members of De Pere Youth Hockey and Green Bay Youth Hockey for your input as we worked together to define these boundaries. Thank you,
