The Eastern College Athletic Conference The Eastern College Athletic Conference administers Women’s Hockey 105 championships in 37 sports. The ECAC Member Institutions Championships offer over 19,000 student-athletes from the 321 member institutions, including 189 in Buffalo State Chatham Division III, an opportunity to extend their seasons Cortland through the year-ending championships, or an Elmira additional possibility to qualify for an NCAA Neumann Championship. ECAC Championships are held for Oswego both men and women in team and individual sports Plattsburgh during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Potsdam RIT The mission of the ECAC shall be to initiate, Utica stimulate and improve intercollegiate athletics programs for student-athletes, and to promote and develop educational leadership, athletics excellence and athletics participation.

Oswego State’s commitment to serving the well-being and readiness of its student-athletes extends from the classroom to the quality of athletic facilities. Laker Hall, which was built in 1968, serves as the Lakers’ primary indoor facility and is home to the Oswego State Athletic Department.

Head Coach Diane Dillon Diane Dillon begins her fifth year at the helm of the Oswego State Laker women’s ice hockey program in 2010-11. Last season, Dillon guided Oswego State to an overall record of 7-17-1 and a conference record of 5-12-1. Dillon was named the Laker women’s ice hockey head coach on March 8, 2006, and went on to garner ECAC Women’s West Coach of the Year honors following her first season behind the bench at Oswego State.

Dillon, a native of Tonawanda, N.Y., completed five seasons as assistant coach for women’s ice hockey at Cornell University prior to becoming the head coach at Oswego State. In addition to game and practice responsibilities, Dillon was the primary recruiting coordinator for the Big Red and monitored academic progress of the studentathletes. She was also involved with developing the program’s relationship with alumni and the community. A 1983 graduate of Cornell, Dillon is one of the most prominent players in the program’s history. She currently stands seventh in Big Red history in goals (65), fifth in assists (79) and sixth in total points (144). She was a team MVP in her freshman year and served as a team captain for three years, helping the Big Red to Ivy League championships in 1979 and 1980.

2009-2010 Season in Review Lakers Edged Out of Playoffs The women’s ice hockey team had several memorable moments this season despite narrowly missing the ECAC West playoffs in its fourth year of existence. The Lakers finished second at the Rutland Herald Invitational with junior Emily Grippin named to the all-tournament team, and nearly knocked off top-ranked Plattsburgh in the season finale as junior goaltender Emi Williams stopped 61 shots. Additional highlights included swepping Buffalo State and defeating Utica for the first time in program history. Senior Jenna Kirkwood paced the Lakers offensively with 16 points on 12 goals and four assists, while Williams finished the season with 654 saves.
