In consideration of acceptance of my/our entry by the Venice Canals Association (“VCA”) in the December 15, 2013 Holiday Boat Parade (“the Activity”), I/we acknowledge and agree as follows: 1. Designing, building, and propelling my/our vessel in the Activity is at my/our own risk and I/we undertake the Activity of my/our own free will and am/are responsible for my/our own safety. I/we understand the Activity will not be supervised by any trained lifeguards or safety officers. Those individuals who have volunteered to assist the participant in the Activity will take no action to mitigate these natural risks, and offer no guarantee of safety. 2. I/We are responsible for all passengers and participants in our own watercraft. 3. I/We will take the necessary actions to assure that all passengers and participants are aware of this release of liability and waiver.
4. I/We will assure that all passengers and participants in our watercraft have signed this waiver, release and indemnification of liability. 5. I/We understand children on boats MUST WEAR life vests during the Activity. 6. ASSUMPTION OF RISK. THERE ARE RISKS INHERENT IN THE ACTIVITY, AND I/WE FREELY ASSUME ALL RISKS, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH TO MYSELF AND MY CREW, LOSS OR DAMAGE TO MY VESSEL AND ITS EQUIPMENT, AS WELL AS UNFORESEEN RISKS. 7. WAIVER, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION.
