J2 Trip to The Rocking Horse Toby Carvery The children in J2 enjoyed an exciting trip to the Toby Carvery today. One of the Regional Managers was visiting the Aintree Carvery while the children were there and he commented on the exemplary behaviour of the children. Well done J2 for representing Holy Rosary so well! History Day Next Friday we will be holding a history day which will focus on Monarchs through the years. Each class will study a monarch during the week and will try to convince the rest of the school that their particular monarch had the greatest reign! Please help your child to research their class monarch over the weekend. Many thanks Holy Communions The next group of children from Year 4 are celebrating their Holy Communion tomorrow. Best wishes to all the children and their families on their special day. Arts Week Our annual Arts Week takes place when we return to school after the half-term. A letter will be sent home with the children next week. The Atkinson in Southport – “Wild” by Evan Placey We have been asked to let you know about the above play which takes place in the Atkinson on Sunday 26 June at 2.30pm. It is for everyone ages 8 and above and is especially suitable for children with ADHD. Tickets are £8, £6 for children and £24 for a family plus a booking fee. Tickets are purchasable from the Box Office team on 01704 533333 or over the counter at the Atkinson in Southport or on line at theatkinson.co.uk. Sun Cream and Sun Hats – Reminder Now that the weather is getting warmer, I would like to remind you to please apply sun cream before your child comes to school and provide them with a sun hat. As always we encourage the children to bring a water bottle into school – this is particularly important during the summer months. Thank you. First Aid Training for Parents – Reminder
The St John Ambulance will be in school next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday delivering First Aid training to the children. The First Aid training for parents/carers takes place on Monday 23 May and Tuesday 24 May 2016 from 9.00 to 12 noon on both mornings. Many thanks to all who have signed up for this training. We do hope you enjoy it. We still have 2 places available. Therefore, if you are interested in taking part please pop into the school office on Monday morning so that we can add your name to the list. Reception Stay and Play - Reminder Parents of children in our Reception classes are invited to ‘Stay and Play’ sessions. The last session for this academic year will take place on Wednesday 29 June from 9.00 am to 9.30 am.
Fit for Life Group The next Fit for Life group walk will take place on Thursday 9 June 2016 – meet up outside the school gates at 8.55 am. All parents/grandparents/carers are welcome to join in. Year 6 Trip to Kingswood in September 2016 – Reminder If you have not already done so, could I remind you that the April instalment for the Kingswood Trip is now due. Thank you. ECO Club The children who are in the ECO Club meet once per month. Unfortunately Miss Hornblower will not be in school on Monday 23 May therefore the Club arranged for that day has been cancelled. The next Eco Club will take place on Monday 27 June. School Nurse Drop-In Sessions The last School Nurse Drop-In Clinic for this academic year is:Wednesday 6 July from 8.45 to 9.45 am The clinic will be held in school – so if you wish to see the nurse, please just report to the school office. During the clinics the nurse will be available for a confidential service regarding your child’s health and development, including health promotion advice and signposting to others for information and support. The nurse is based at Maghull Health Centre – telephone 0151 222 3437.
