Our final regular season game is a HOME game on this SATURDAY, 10/21. Smurfs need to arrive at 2:00 to play @ 3:00, Pee Wees arrive at 2:45 to play @ 4:00, Ponies arrive at 4:30 to play @ 5:30, & Midgets arrive at 5:45 to play @ 7:00. Dress is BLACK pants & GREEN jersey.
HOME GAME HELP We have a lot of slots still open where we need help for the game this weekend. Please come to the shed to see how you can help. In addition, the FACEBOOK pages (Football and Cheer) have the needs posted. Thank you!!!
OUR COACHES ARE AWESOME! Did you know that our coaches are all volunteers who spend many hours each week in meetings, watching game film, and scouting other teams in addition to the time they spend on the field with the kids? For that reason, each year, we collect donations to purchase a gift for the coaches at each level. A frequently asked question is: “How
much should I donate?” People generally give somewhere between $5.00 and $20.00, but the amount is totally up to you. We would like the money by the first week of playoffs (Weekend of October 28th and 29th) so that we have time to purchase the gifts and get them delivered and wrapped and ready for the coaches by the banquet (in early December). Please see a team mom (Malinda Turner, Sheri Noell, or Bridget Henne) to donate. You can give it to any of the team moms – it doesn’t matter what squad your child is on.
UPCOMING PLAYOFFS/SUPERBOWL WPMFA is hosting the 2nd round of the playoffs on Saturday, November 4th and also hosting the Federal Conference Super Bowls on Saturday, November 11 th, at WPHS. We will need a lot of help from parents, even if all squads are not playing on those days. Please be alert for volunteer opportunities as the specific times become available. Bridget will have the sign-up sheets at practice next Tuesday for the 11/4 game, and she will post on Facebook, as well, as soon as specifics are known. Thank you!
URGENT REMINDER! Hydration starts long before practice or a game. Please ensure that your child is drinking a lot of water during the day before practicing/playing. Drinking too much during exercise can cause cramps and other issues, so please make sure your child is hydrated all day. Drinking water is best. Stay away from sodas, which can contribute to dehydration.
* Please park only in the parking lot behind New Bloomfield Elementary or behind the tree line (enter by Karns). * PLEASE help us keep the field clean. If you don’t clean up your trash, one of us has to stay late to do it. Please help us get home at a reasonable time with our kids, too. ☺ * There is no smoking on any school property. That includes the practice field, WPHS Stadium, the parking lot at WPHS and at away games. * Our website is www.WPMidgetFootball.com.
