Mountie’s Attend Annual Winter Sports’ Banquet On March 26th, the Mountaineer Women gathered themselves in North Manser to celebrate the season accomplishments of all the Winter Sports teams (track and field, swimming, cheerleading, and men’s and women’s basketball). We are proud to recognize our individual team winners as Jena Matter (Most Valuable Player), Kayla Allen (Most Improved Player) and our manager, Alexander Esters (Most Important Person). Head coach, Alison Tagliaferri delivered empowering words during her recognition speech. Although the entirety of our season was rough, we have learned to take the good from our situation and constantly improve as a team. To view more photos from the event, make way to our official Mansfield University Women's Basketball Facebook account.
Girl’s Night “Scout” On March 8th, the Mansfield Women got to hang out with an inspiring, young Girl Scouts of America Group. The players signed autographs for the girls after the game and put on a fantastic show for them against Cheyney. Sophomore Forward Katie Fitzpatrick says, “We’re honored to have such beautiful, young ladies as fans. They inspire me to work harder and I appreciate them for that!” Junior Guard Alyssa DeRichie added, “Even though we lost the game, it still felt like a win to us when the Girl Scouts were around. I can’t wait to meet with them again in the future.”.
