Treasurer's ReportThe Board reviewed the Treasurer's Report for the month. Mike Thompson made a motion to approve the Treasurer's report. Rob Firth seconded. Motion carried.
Chief's Report-The Department has had 3 EMS assist calls since our last meeting. They also ran a call for a gas leak, a motor vehicle accident that was a mutual aid with Kremmling, and a mutual aid structure fire with Granby and East Grand. -Training-A document consisting of rules and regulations for the Department volunteers was presented to them at their training. The document was also given to the Board to peruse. It basically outlined the duties of the firefighters and officers and the expectations and training for the volunteers as members of the fire department. Each volunteer will be asked to sign the document as an acknowledgment and an agreement to adhere to the expectations. Rob Firth suggested a clause be added that any Department issued equipment will be returned once someone leaves the Department. -The Department has not heard anything new concerning the possible donation of a truck from the town of Grand Lake. -The Parshall Station boiler is in but not complete. But the heat is running. Rod Lock of B & J Plumbing is doing the installation and not charging the District for any labor-just having us pay the cost of the boiler and equipment associated with that. -The old 287 truck will be cleaned out and parked at the Parshall Station so it will be ready to be taken when the new 287 gets here. The volunteers will also be moving over the equipment that goes back to the Parshall station within the next month. -A discussion concerning the application process and procuring grants for the fire department was initiated. Due to the current grant we received for our new fire truck, there will be some paperwork that needs to be filled out and followed up on to finalize the process, and the Chief doesn't have time to do it-nor should it be his full responsibility. The Board should aid in helping out with that process. Ideally, the best solution would be to have someone attend a grant writing class to fulfill this void, and

in addition to that person, a board member to help shoulder the responsibility. But, our immediate need is to have someone take on the existing grant and make sure that all of the deadlines concerning the grant are met. Mike Thompson suggested that his wife could be a viable option to fill this position. She has attended grant classes and applied for and completed many grants. He will talk with her and see if she is willing to help out. Other ideas might be to send someone from the department to grant classes-such as Toni. Rod Sale also volunteered to attend a grant writing class for the department. New BusinessNone Old BusinessIt was requested that Tom get a current fire hydrant report from the town of Hot Sulphur Springs. It was also requested that 'thank yous' with donation information (for the Parshall Station) be sent out by the end of the month, and Joe Vrbas would also like to sign the letters. Adjournment at 8:18
