The Annual Fund is the most essential fundraising effort at any independent school and involves all members of the community. The Albany Academies Annual Fund ensures that The Albany Academy and Albany Academy for Girls have the resources they need to provide a rich and robust academic program – from the

The Annual Fund supports the resources essential to our programs and has a direct and positive impact on every student, faculty and staff member, enriching the experience for all.

Why is the Annual Fund important? The Annual Fund strives to close the gap between tuition and the cost of an Academy education. The monies raised each year are unrestricted and help maintain the Academies tradition of excellence in academics, arts, athletics, character, and service by offering meaningful opportunities through a wide variety of programs and attracting and retaining talented teachers who inspire a passion for learning. Parents and Past Parents We strive for full parent participation in the Annual Fund. Many parents see their gift to the Academies as helping to provide support for programs, faculty, and resources for their students. Past parents give to show gratitude for how the Academies prepared their children to be successful in life. Every dollar does make a difference, no matter how large or how small. Alumni and Alumnae Alumni and alumnae see their gift to the Academy as a means of “giving back.” They believe that supporting the schools through a charitable gift is a way of positioning the Academies for success and helping to sustain and expand the schools. Others give because they see the value of an independent school

education and want to ensure that the 200-year legacy continues for future generations of Academy students. Young Alumni and Alumnae Giving back – even in just a small way – as a young alumna or alumnus is important. Reunion is the perfect time to participate in the Annual Fund and express gratitude for how the Academies prepared them. Becoming a Pace Setter is also a way of getting involved right away as a young alumnus or alumna. Grandparents Experiencing an Academy education through the eyes of a grandchild is special. Many grandparents support the Annual Fund as their way of supporting an independent school education that helped shape their grandchild(ren).
