Human Resources Area Manager Cedar Point has an immediate opening in Sandusky, Ohio for the position of Human Resource Area Manager. This full time position will report to Cedar Point's Manager Human Resources.
JOB SUMMARY: Assist in planning, developing, implementing and administering Cedar Point's seasonal recruiting program, ensures day-to-day operations of the HR office is performed successfully. Oversee the company training programs, on-boarding processes, and employee relations for over 7,000 seasonal employees. Achieve financial goals by effective management of staffing and labor controls. Utilize effective employee relations techniques to optimize service and applicant quality. Perform related supervisory and professional work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent with 1-2 years relevant work experience
Able to effectively apply verbal, quantitative and interpersonal skills.
Possess a high level of organizational and communication skills.
Must be interested in working with people of all backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to often work irregular hours and deal with the unexpected.
Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to speak in front of groups and give presentations.
Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft Office software and Office Suite programs.
Able and willing to travel (domestically and internationally) for recruiting quality applicants.
Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, or state law.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Driver's License and passport (international recruiting).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in communicating and distributing seasonal benefit information including, but not limited to, ACA compliance, periodic seasonal benefit communications and other verbal or written communications, as directed. Perform administrative responsibilities for HRIS systems, including payroll (Accero), ATS (JobNet), TAS (WorkForce), scheduling (When To Work), Unemployment Claims processing and On-boarding processes (Equifax, ERS), including processing and report writing, as required.
Assists in all facets of the seasonal recruiting program strategies and development including pre-season and post-season college recruiting, J-1 program, local and domestic programs.
Oversees the seasonal orientation training programs to include staffing of trainers, program development and refinements.
Communicates with associates at all levels of the Company and key external contacts including vendors, other business contacts, regulatory agencies and local, state or federal government offices. Utilizes various formats of communication including verbal, written and statistical data. Communications may be complex and cover a variety of business related topics.
Assists in the development and implementation of operating budget for areas of responsibility. adjustments to meet departmental goals.
Provide training and direction to line associates Coach and counsel associates to improve performance. Delegate work assignments. Motivate staff to achieve optimum job performance through positive feedback and personal example.
Work with associates and management to determine, document and implement religious job accommodations.
Work with associates, management and First Aid staff to determine, document and implement reasonable job accommodations based on the employee's verified claim of disability.
In conjunction with the HR Manager, monitor the associate progressive discipline system to include reviewing issued disciplinary action, reviewing and approving final warnings and terminations. Work with division management, counsel and coach division management regarding consistency of disciplinary actions.
Act as an employee relations representative for concerns involving associate issues such as harassment and discrimination claims. Receive initial associate complaint reports, conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions. Accurately and thoroughly document investigations. Liaise with Cedar Point Security/Detective Bureau to follow-up on police reports involving associates.
Adhere to and enforce all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
