The Foundation of IAAP Bi-Monthly Message (September) by Stacey Brewer, CAP-OM, 2013-2015 Regional Regent #1 It’s a new day within The Foundation of IAAP! At EFAM 2013 in Anaheim, California, IAAP delegates approved amendments to the bylaws that provided for the restructuring of The Foundation. On behalf of the 2013-2014 Board of Regents, “Thank You!” for your support of these efforts by The Foundation to further our mission of investing effectively in the growth and success of office professionals. Under the new governance structure, Regents have been appointed to serve as liaisons between five regions, which were established based on IAAP membership population. I am excited to serve as your 2013-2014 Regent. To those of you who do not know me, I have been a member of IAAP and the Huntsville Chapter in the Alabama Division since 2006. I have served in various positions at the chapter and division level. I am available to answer any of your questions regarding The Foundation of IAAP. You can reach me any time by email (
[email protected]). Please be sure to let me know who the Foundation Ambassador is for your chapter/division – that way I can send all Foundation communications directly to them. The Foundation launched two major inaugural fundraising initiatives during the 2012-2013 year: the Amazing Walk and the Silent Auction at EFAM 2013. I am happy to announce that 369 individuals and 213 chapters raised more than $48,000 during the Amazing Walk! For a complete list of all participants, please click here. I am also excited to report that the Silent Auction held at EFAM 2013 raised more than $22,000! Both of these totals are truly remarkable for an inaugural effort and all made possible because of YOU, the IAAP membership! Additionally, The Foundation was able to provide scholarships to 40 individuals to attend EFAM 2013. For a complete list of scholarship winners, click here. Celeste Parker of Christiansburg, Virginia, addressed the attendees of EFAM 2013 on behalf of the 40 Foundation of IAAP scholarship recipients. Click here to watch her inspiring speech. Again, I am looking forward to working with your chapter or division Ambassadors to The Foundation of IAAP in the coming months. Through your steadfast support of The Foundation, I am certain we will achieve our overall 2013-2014 fundraising goal of $500,000!
